The 2007 Sixty40 Magazine Road Warriors has begun

posted by Brandon Foster on 27th June 2007

The Tour kicked off at 360 Surf Shop in Richards Bay on the 26th June 2007 at 3pm. Thanks to all those in the area that pulled in to grab a signature and the freebies to support bodyboarding.

Amped to see all you Richards Bay guys on the rest of the trip. Thanks to 360 Surf for hosting us and all those bodyboarders in Richards Bay or heading through those parts remember to stop into the shop and get all your bodyboarding goodies.

Unfortunately Brenden Newton has not been able to make it out of Australia and has had to stay in his home country for a little longer. The tour is in full swing still and Brenden sends his apologise for not being able to make the first part of the tour but promises to try make it for the tail end of the tour. So keep an eye on the websites to see when he might be joining.

The next stop will be at Planet Surf in Durban at 3pm on the 28th June 2007. Here you will be able to meet the pros and win some freebies too.

On the 29th June 2007 at 7pm at the Gateway Wave House the Sixty40 Magazine Road Warriors will be premiering, for the first time in South Africa, the acclaimed DVD "THE ROAD". This is a free event and not only will you be able to watch the DVD for free but stand the chance of winning some free gear too. This event will start at 4pm with the pros barbequing at the Gateway Wave House straight after the first day of the Bay of Plenty Contest, then you will be able to ride the flowrider with the pros during the 5pm and 6pm sessions. This session will be filmed for the up and coming Jared Schafer Movie and shot for an article in Riptide and Sixty40 Magazines. So come rip it up and get some coverage. The video will start with a chat from Brandon Foster and will end with him and the rest of the Road Warriors answering questions on the movie and professional bodyboarding.

Combined with the premiere of "The Road" DVD, The Gateway, Wave House will also be opening their new attraction "BUNGY". A World First, a structure designed purely for Extreme Sport and Outdoor Entertainment. This Unique Tower will be operational in the Gateway Wave House making it the only Bungy Jump Site in a shopping centre in South Africa. This Bungy Jump Site is also one of only three Water Touch Jumps on Earth. This means that any person of any weight, shape or size touches the water, with their hands, at the full extension of the jump. So make sure you pull in for a great afternoon and evening at the Gateway Wave House.

The 2007 Sixty40 Magazine Road Warriors are Brandon Foster, Sacha Specker, Ian Kruger, Jared Houston, Wesley Fischer, Mark Clarke, Marc Jucker and Alistair Taylor.

Thanks to Custom X, Reef Wetsuits, Rossi Bodyboards, Elemenohpee, No Friends, Mike Stewart Science Bodyboards, Gateway Wave House and Sixty40 Magazine for supporting bodyboarding and community development in South Africa.
