Sixty40 Magazine Road Warriors 2007 Tour set to Kick Off

posted by Brandon Foster on 23rd June 2007

We have been hitting all the hot spots around Kwa-Zulu Natal looking for waves preparing for the tour to begin.

The Tour will kick off at 360 Surf Shop in Richards Bay on the 26th June 2007 at 3pm. So if you are in the area, pull in to grab a signature from some of the best international and domestic bodyboarders in the world. There will be a whole lot of freebies too.

The next stop will be at Planet Surf in Durban at 3pm on the 28th June 2007. Here you will be able to meet the pros and win some freebies too.

On the 29th June 2007 at 7pm at the Gateway Wave House the Sixty40 Magazine Road Warriors will be premiering, for the first time in South Africa, the acclaimed DVD "THE ROAD". This is a free event and not only will you be able to watch the DVD for free but stand the chance of winning some free gear too.

This event will start at 4pm with the pros barbequing at the Gateway Wave House then you will be able to ride the flowrider with the pros during the 5pm and 6pm sessions. This session will be filmed for the up and coming Jared Shaffer Movie and shot for an article in Riptide and Sixty40 Magazines. So come rip it up and get some coverage. The video will start with a chat from director, producer and star of "The Road" Brenden Newton and will end with him and the rest of the Road Warriors answering questions on the movie and professional bodyboarding.

Combined with the premiere of "The Road" DVD, The Gateway, Wave House will also be opening their new attraction "BUNGY". A World First, a structure designed purely for Extreme Sport and Outdoor Entertainment. This Unique Tower will be operational in the Gateway Wave House making it the only Bungy Jump Site in a shopping center in South Africa. This Bungy Jump Site is also one of only three Water Touch Jumps on Earth. This means that any person of any weight, shape or size touches the water, with their hands, at the full extension of the jump. So make sure you pull in for a great afternoon and evening at the Gateway Wave House.

The 2007 Sixty40 Magazine Road Warriors are Brandon Foster, Brenden Newton, Sasha Specker, Ian Kruger, Jared Houston, Wesley Fischer, Marc Clarke, Marc Jucker and Alistair Taylor.

Thanks to Custom X, Reef Wetsuits, Rossi Bodyboards, Elemenophe, No Friends, Mike Stewart Science Bodyboards, Gateway Wave House and Sixty40 Magazine for supporting bodyboarding and community development in South Africa.

Why is there a promo at the "Billabong Shop" when there is a "Sport Unlimited"(which is a huge supporter of bodyboarding in SA) in the same complex????

Billabong do absolutely zeroooo for SA bodyboarding, all they do is milk you of your hard earned cash buy selling you bodyboarding products then spit in your face when you ask them to sponsor events and/or riders.. When in the last 10 years have you even seen Billabong advertising in a SA bodyboarding publication or movie etc??... oh ja right, NOT ONCE!! That's because Billabong Int is not allowing any Billabong shop in SA to use any advertising material what so ever to let the general public know that they are involved/associated with bodyaboarding..

I know in the past this specific Billabong shop did sponsor one or two boland champs but recently Billabong SA was sold to Billabong International and as of the end of the month this store while no longer belong to the present owners..
