The Wedge, Plettenberg Bay – Southern Cape
3 to 7 July, 2006
Entries are open for the Wedge Classic 5A Rated South African Bodyboarding Association (SABA) sanctioned event which runs from July 3 to 7 at Plettenberg Bay in the Southern Cape. This year’s event has received an even bigger boost from sponsors First National Bank, Robberg Seafoods, Wavecrest Distributors, Ocean Life and Fish Bone Design Studio. The prize purse totals an impressive R17,500 which for the first time ever will be divided amongst the Pro division, Ladies and Drop Knee riders. Product sponsors include Red Bull, Reef Brazil, Arnette Sunglasses and Logic Magazine.
"It looks like this year’s event is even bigger than last year, bodyboarders from around South Africa will be eager to get their entries in early to make sure that they are a part of the longest running bodyboarding event in the country," said event organiser Wayne Craig from Wave Crest Distributors.
Wedge Classic organisers are expecting over 200 competitors to enter. Entries close a week before the event starts on Friday, June 23 and no exceptions for latecomers will be made.

The SABA Wedge Classic is the fourth event on the national circuit which counts towards the crowning of the year end champions in the Pro, Boys, Juniors, Men, Women, Masters, Drop Knee, Under 12 boys, Under 16 girls and Development divisions.
