Puerto Rico Times  It’s been a good 2 weeks in Puerto Rico; Puerto Rico hasbecome one of my top 4 stops on tour! The locals have been so welcoming and wehave been blessed with 4 to 6 feet waves for most of our stay.  We ran the GSS...
So the time has finally arrived, it's a start to a new year and a new start to the recently revamped IBA GSS Tour. There has been so much hype around this first contest, not just because it's the first contest of the year but it's the Pipeline Pro and I am sure every rider on the North Shore is just dying to get their name engraved on the winner's trophy.
I really don't know where to start with this one! I now know what it feels like to be the happiest person alive. What a final day it turned out to be ...
One week down and 2 more to go ... straight into it I tell you ... after getting picked up by Richardo at the airport we went straight to surf la Tubaria with Bass and Jerry. We could not complain much as the waves were pumping!
It's that time of the year again, a time that I really look forward to ... it's time for the Canaries again!
6 long days of sand, sun, wind and rain along with 106 heats sees the end of another successful SA Champs at Suncoast (Durban). A wise Indian once said "if you not too sure about the hot then just get yourself a mild my lannie"
"Yes please!" It's time for SA Champs again, and this time CKZN are the hosting province. Out of all the IBA, SABA and Provincial trials SA Champs has got to be one of my favourite events to compete in.
So that's a wrap of the European leg of the IBA tour. Looking back to 2008 I am the happiest guy when I won my first IBA event here but this year the Ferrol event went to the well deserved Australian back flip machine Jake Stone (Stony).
What a year it's been for Amaury Laverhne. The guy has just been on fire all year!!
I got to Portugal today ... so will do another post before I surf my heat, that should be on Friday. Over the last few days I have been getting a few good sessions down at Umhlanga Rocks Main Beach. There have been some really fun banks on the low tide and it seems like the neap tides and the NE winds have been making for some air bowls.
Welcome to my blog! I am Mark McCarthy aka "Boetie" and am excited to join the world of blogging on Sixty40 and hope to share a bit of my experiences while touring the world on the IBA World Tour.
