Winner, Winner, Canary Dinner

14th December 2010

I really don't know where to start with this one! I now know what it feels like to be the happiest person alive. What a final day it turned out to be - I think I had about 3 hours of sleep the night before as I was so concerned of not making the top 24 for the GSS (Grand Slam Series) for next year. What would I do if I did not make the cut?

But after the win at Confital I have moved up to 9th for the year. Another highlight is that Jerry won the rooky of the year award after his immense performance this year and finished at 10th on the IBA tour ranking. Having Jerry on tour this year has been amazing, he has really pushed me and has pushed SA Bodyboarding to the next level. Jerry is just one of the most impressive riders to watch ride and has the drive to take down the world title.

Jerry you make me so proud!!

Unfortunately I will not be taking part in the Fronton event as Jerry and Dre were chosen to rep SA and I am sure they will bring back winnings!! I want to wish you all the best guys!

I am down on the South Coast competing in the Anytime Holidays Xtreme Bodyboarding Showdown which is part of the South Coast FeverX Games from the 11-19 Dec 2010. I will also be going a Bodyboarding Clinic down at Uvongo main beach from 8am-10am on Friday, the 17th December so feel free to come down and join in!!!

Support

By far the biggest highlight of my life and career. Just to be part of the final day was epic and to ride pumping Confital with the world's best was really satisfying. What made the day even more special was having the best SAFFA support group at the beach! Morly, Dre, Cobus, Bass, Jerry, Nic and Ravy you guys made it for me. For all the support back home, my girlfriend Tracy, My Family and friends this victory is as much as yours as it is mine! I can't do this alone and having your support and faith in me is what motivates and inspires me to push on.

Big thanks my sponsors Science, Lizzard, PowerBalance and Factory 7 for their contribution.

Well done bru!!! Well deserved result. Absolutely killed it - that score sheet is mental. Want to see some of the form on the GSS next year.
