Day 2 of the West Coast Classic
Bones once again produced some epic waves. Conditions were near perfect with some 4 - 6 foot sets which laid the foundation for some solid rides with big moves being pulled off. In the boys semi-final Tristan Roberts landed an inverse which had the crowd on their feet.

In the pro's division Mafoos Lombard and Matt Webster had consistent semi-final heats taking them to the final. Adam Waites and Rory Fellow-Smith also both produced the goods to complete the final four. With the conditions being so good, the call was made to surf the pro finals. The heat which was 25 minutes long, produced some high scoring rolls by all finalists. Matt Webster probably did the biggest roll of the day landing it in spectacular fashion. Mafoos Lombard surfed a solid final and towards the end pulling off an ARS on a big one which just might give him the edge. Adam Waites also surfed well landing an invert early in the heat. Rory Fellow-Smith had a consistent final and is also in contention for the title. The final scoring will be very close and we cannot wait to here who will collect the 20K which will be announced at the prize giving as soon as all finals are complete.

During the junior finals, Wilder Schultz and Stephen du Preez were giving it their all to be in contention for the junior title. The other two finalists, Corban Warrington and Niklas Martin also had high scoring waves which might just be enough to pick up the prize money.

The masters and grand masters finals were also completed with both being 30 minutes long. Len Bradford and Marcel Habets had some big long rides during their grand masters final. The masters final was very close with Melvin Victor pulling of an ARS during the last minutes of the heat. Sean Oberholzer, Morne Laubscher and Lee Moran contested strongly for the masters title with all of them having solid rides.

The outstanding final heats that still need to run is the DK, mens, boys and ladies. Contest is on hold for day 3 until further notice.
