R20,000 first prize up for grabs at the Kumba West Coast Classic 2012

posted on 12th February 2012

The West Coast Bodyboarding Classic has been given the green light for 2012 and the headline sponsors Kumba Iron Ore, a mining division of Anglo American, have upped the stakes once again with a massive R20,000 cash prize for the Pro division winner.

The Kumba West Coast Classic is the second event on the 2012 South African Boarding Association (SABA) circuit. The Cape Classic takes place on the weekend before which makes it convenient for entrants travelling from further afield.

Reef Wetsuits SA is once again on board as the official product sponsor so contestants can expect a great range of bodyboarding gear up for prizes across the divisions.

The event takes place over the Easter weekend - 5-9 April 2012 with the briefing to be held on the evening of the 4th April at 7pm.

Organisers, Boland Bodyboarding Association will post an online entry form shortly and are advising prospective entrants to book your accommodation early due to the Easter weekend. Check out the following links for accommodation options.
