WHAT: The Sport Unlimited Cape Classic is the first and one of the most awaited events on the South African Bodyboarding Association’s (SABA) annual event calendar. An event of this magnitude attracts competitors from around the country, all competing for top honours, to get a head start on the 2007 circuit.

Divisions cater for Boys, Girls (U16), Juniors (U18), Pro Men, Women, Men, Masters and Drop Knee.

When: Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 March

Where: Glen Beach in Camps Bay, Cape Town.

Who: South Africa’s top performing riders will be fighting for a top position in the first SABA circuit event of the year of the year.

Last years winner and South Africa’s top ranked bodyboarder, Wesley Fischer, will be returning from Hawaii along with Mark Watts to enter the competition and will no doubt be the hot favourites for the competition this year. Current SA Champion Alistair Taylor (CKZN) will be looking to keep up his winning streak by taking a win and placing fear in the hearts of his competitors at an early stage of the year.

In the Juniors Division, local boy Jared Houston(WP) will be fighting to gain an early lead over rival Micheal Ostler. These two are always showing off for the crowds by trying to out do the other and putting on a great show for the spectators on the beach.

In the Masters Division, a pioneer of the sport and current SA Masters Champion, Mike van Huysteen, will be looking to keep his title after winning in this division at last years event. Mike will also be showing his years of experience against the best in the country by entering the Pro Mens Division..
