The World's best bodyboarders are all poised and ready to do battle at the second last event on the IBA Men's & Women's World Tour in Venezeula.

The Bodyboard Pro Festival is scheduled to launch into action tomorrow at the infamous Los Caracas Beach with a new swell expected to peak on the weekend.

There looks like being about 80 Men and 40 Women, above expectations, and thus possibly requiring 1 Round of Trials for the local riders on the afternoon of the 11th.Confirmation of this will be made on the 10th at check-in between 3pm and 6pm.

Those International Riders who arrive after the 10th may register with
Technical Director Derek Hulme between 2pm and 6pm on the 11th at the beach to fill out Entry forms, IBA Contracts and pay IBA Membership.

International riders must pay in $US or Euros & NOT Local currency. This is very important.

There is fantastic interest from local Radio,TV and Newspapers in the first big International Bodyboading Event in Venezuela, with over 50 media people attending the Press Conference last Friday in Caracas.

As well there has been a number of interviews on local radio stations.
Everyone is certain the event will be a huge success thanks to the tireless efforts of Contest Organiser Lumar Guittard and her assistant Luis Martinez.

Current Men's rating leader Ben Player (Australia) is in VZ and is keen for the contest.

"There looks like a new swell coming for the weekend. At the moment the waves are about 2 feet and the beachbreaks are fun" said Player.

"I started out the year with a goal to win back the World title and so far things are going to plan. I suppose that I never really knew what it meant to me to be World Champion until I lost it to Jeff in Hawaii"

Another former World Champion is at the top of the Women's rankings and is also in Caracas for the Bodyboard Pro Festival.

Neymara Carvahlo (Brazil) has been in devastating form all year since winning the Ingles Pro in Australia and like Ben is keen to regain the title.

"I have a baby now and I want to do it for her" said an emotional Neymara.

"To win back the World Championship would be a dream come true."

The event is being webcast at www.bodyboardprofestival.com and live scores can be found at www.ibatour.com.
