Current World Champ Amaury Lavernhe, loves the left of El Gringo. He always finds the ramps and solid long barrels out there. Amaury came 2nd at last years event in Arica, but unfortunately he ended up finishing 5th this year, after losing "probably my best heat in El Gringo and probably in my life so far" against Tamega in the Quarter Finals.
The heat was full of tension and neither competitor was talking to each other out in the water and wanted to win so bad, that it took a crazy roll from Tamega after the end section over the dry rocks for him to beat Amaury.
