Sponsors boost West Coast Classic prize purse

Kumba Iron Ore has pushed up the total prize money to bring a 5A rated SABA event back to the circuit, making this event one of, if not the biggest event on the annual circuit.

The West Coast Classic premier pro division carries a R16 000 prize purse. The 2011 West Coast Classic Champion will walk away with R6000 in cash. All other divisions will also get cash prize money. REEF South Africa sponsored prizes worth R20 000 to go with the cash prizes. REEF South Africa's superior products always puts this event in a different class and we are always honoured to have them as an event partner.

In addition to the generous cash and prizes there will be valuable South African Bodyboarding Association (SABA) rating points up for grabs which accumulate over the year to determine the ultimate SABA champion as well as influencing the national team selection.

The BBA Development Contest will be held on the Saturday afternoon, 9 April 2011. Pro bodyboarders will take them into the water for an experience of a lifetime. The contest has been made possible by sponsorship from Kumba Iron Ore. This is the third year running that Kumba is supporting the sport of Bodyboarding and the development of it.
