2004 SABA Circuit kicks off with the HB Pro-Am
posted by Kelly Footit on 26th November 2003
This year sees the inaugural Hot Buttered Pro-Am, which forms part of the City of uMhlathuze’s (Richards Bay) Beach Festival and kicks off the 2004 SABA circuit with this 3A rated event.
The beach festival runs from 16-21 December, with the HB Pro-Am being contested over the Friday/Saturday (19/20 December) with the festival including other events such as Soccer, Beach Volleyball, Touch Rugby, the Miss Fish Eagle pageant, market, food stalls, Jetski, Triathlon and Surfski.
The Hot-Buttered Pro-Am is set to become an annual event on the SABA calendar but to ensure it’s success this year so that the event sponsors will commit to next year, the event will we need to attract as many entrants as possible. So, if you are travelling to the event and have space for someone, try and fill it. If you need someone to fill a seat check out or advertise on our forum’s “Accommodation/Car Pool” section – we already have one rider looking for a lift up from Cape Town. Likewise, any Richards Bay locals who can help out with accommodation – I’m sure accommodation is scarce/expensive around peak season. However, check out our forum “Accommodation/Car Pool” where I’ve included a link to a list of available accommodation which has been put together by NKZNBA/www.surfalliance.co.za
Entry closing date is 5pm on Wednesday, 17th December and entry forms are available off our contest page or from the SABA website, so make sure you get your entries faxed off before then.
The NKZNBA guys have apparently been hard at work and looks like they’ve lined up a dozen sponsors for what is looking to be a successful event.
