Nomad has Arrived!

"Bodyboarders are nomadic by nature.
We track the oceans swell, wind and tidal patterns.
We hunt the coastline for the perfect reef, point & beach break set-ups.
As individuals and tribes, we scour the globe in this search.
This is our religion.
This is our mission.

From this passion comes Nomad, a new breed of bodyboard company.
We are bodyboarders. We understand the mission.
It helps us create a range uniquely adapted to high performance bodyboarding.
This is our focus.

The journey has just begun ...
"

Something you can relate to? The crew at Factory 7 certainly did.

When they were contacted about bringing Nomad into South Africa they jumped at the opportunity according to owner Derek Footit and today bodyboarders in SA have another 100% bodyboarding brand available to them through the online store www.factory7.co.za. According to Derek, "Our customers expect the best and Nomad certainly delivers which is why we have been so keen to get the brand into South Africa - they place a huge emphasis on their quality of product which is evident across the entire range that we have received. We are really proud to be associated with Nomad who not only deliver a great product but for a small company put a considerable investment back into the sport - something which is important to us. Nomad may not be a household name in SA yet but with some great team riders endorsing their brand most bodyboarders will at least have heard of the brand. The Nomad team includes 3 times Riptide Peer Poll DK winner Matt Lackey, Top 16 WT riders Josh Kirkman, Adam Luehman & Hugo Pinheiro and big wave rider Chris James. Locally we have signed up DK ripper Sean Tickner so expect to seen him throwing chunks on his Lackey model."

Apart from the quality of product, the Nomad range fitted in perfectly with Factory 7's aim to provide its bodyboarding customers with a more diverse range of bodyboarding clothing and accessories. Bringing in a small shipment initially, Derek notes "we have brought in a small selection of boards which look awesome and we'll be putting them through some serious test riding with a view to bring in more in future but we have primarily invested in the clothing and accessories range in our first shipment as there is definitely a gap in the market which we are trying to fill for our customers."

Nomad itself is a bodyboarder owned company which has been growing from strength to strength over the last few years, this year gaining a lot of positive exposure from their sponsorship of the Cronulla Shark Island Challenge World Tour event. Asked about their expansion to new shores, Shane & Mark Britten had the following to note - "As two Australian brothers stoked on bodyboarding we're really happy to be working with two equally enthusiastic South African brothers in Kelly & Derek Footit in bringing Nomad to South Africa."

The makings of a great partnership? Time will tell ... Go to www.factory7.co.za to check out the range.
