The tour is off to a great start. OK waves have been had all over the Cape Coast line. Check out the frame grabs for the inside scoop and a preview to the video footage in the upcoming Star Witness Productions video filmed and edited by Cea-Leggs.
A sad but good news update of the tour is that Second Nature: Road Warriors Tour member David Hubbard has qualified for the Shark Island Event in Australia and now has to fly over there to compete, congrats to him but he will be missed as the tour moves up the coast.

Looking at the wave charts it looks like the event will be held on the Thursday 29th June, so come down to Hermanus’s Bayview surf spot to check out the event, if you’re brave enough.
While shooting all over the Cape we have bumped into local grommet talent, Jared Houston. After a few surfs with this kid we have decided to have him included as the Second Nature: Road Warriors Tour Grommet of 2006. Well done to him, if you don’t think he deserves it check out his frame grabs. One day if this grom keeps impressing the top riders, he might even make it as a head rider on the tour.
A brief Road Warriors run down:
The Road Warriors tour has been done for many years now by top South African and international Professional Bodyboarders. The trip was never named but it was basically the top riders following the contests up the coast from Cape Town to Durban. They would compete, chase waves and have a good time up the whole coast.
The tour was named Road Warriors by Brandon Foster based on an idea he had been formulating for years. Then two years ago with the help of Ian Kruger and Marc Jucker, they combined the old trip, of following waves and the contests, with promo’s at surfshops, video premieres and development and new rider demos at local surf spots all up the coast.
The main objective of the trip is to help get bodyboarding into the public eye through promo’s, demos, advertising and video premieres. The Road Warriors Tour is also always looking for new blood to join the elite members of the Road Warriors Crew, this gives South African kids incentive to push themselves in their sport to get good enough to be invited on the tour.
