Living In Africa

Myself and 2 surfers were asked to leave the water this morning at Alkantstrand, Richards Bay because some wildlife decided to pay a visit to the lineup. The lifeguards came running down the beach blowing whistles and waving frantically. What was up, we werent doing anything wrong! Had someone broken into the landy. Shark???

So I took a wave in to see what was going on. Turns out there was a 2,5m crocodile about 5 metres in from the pier. We were surfing far down the beach cause there were no waves at the pier, so we ran to take a look. It was just floating there in the lineup, submerging every so often.

Thats something you dont see everyday. We walked down the beach again and carried on with our session (a 2,5m croc out of its normal habitat wont do anything) and when we left the beach the parks board and lifeys were still trying to get the animal out the water.

Unfortunatley, I didnt have my camera so I couldnt get pics, but will be down there early tomorrow with the cam in case he is still around.
