Vanilla functionality - limited HTML allowed. For security reasons and also because a little bit of knowledge is dangerous ... e.g. imagine someone who thinks they know what they're doing trying to add something and not closing tags (I've had a few of these and have had to disable HTML in other areas). Or - as we had with profiles ... guys trying to embed graphics which had not been optimised for web and take ages to download and throws the whole page layout out.
There are mods to add youtube videos using 'BBCode' ... will add to the list.
