Logic? does it still exsist

    Went to the shops cos somewhere in this forum a few months back logic promised us a bumper edition in december, well its now Jan 2007 and still nuddu, zip, ifokalli. I wonder what happened.. too much kite surfing i guess.
    Figgin frogs in socks with boardies over their wet suits.

    on there website it said they were let down by advertisers and now their site is down too.... come on SA support your only local mag...Cause we dont need to loose another SA mag, i have an old copy which i was showing Jamie King last night while he was round at mine abusing the 24mb adsl and we we talking about when we were younger, cruising NB, and will be sad to know there is no local mag to make groms stoked...

    Kelly can u shed more light on this?

    I heard from a very unreliable source,that the mag would still be coming out and there were just a few things they had to sort out,and that there would be a few changes going on with the mag,but like I said a very unreliable source.

    Why doesn't someone just call Craig?

    If i see him i'll ask...

    I once applied for a job with them, i'm a qualified journalist, even said i'd do it for free...Craig never got back to me so i kinda just left it.

    It would be a shame not to have a local mag, given that there is such an abundance of tallent here in S.A...

    I do hope it comes out and more frequently for that matter...

    Anyway keep things as tight as they are on this site, stay amped and charge...

    I don't want to jump to conclusion's but i just came across Craig's MySpace profile and..... well there is absolutely NOTHING on his profile that would even hint that he is the editor of South Africa's only bodyboarding magazine...doesn't mention the name "Logic" or "bodyboarding" once in his hole profile.. There are photo's of about every water sport (some i didn't even know existed) EXEPT bodyboarding!!!!! wakeboarding, surfing, kite surfing, Wake-kiting (if thats wat its called) there's even mountain biking aswell as some kind of marathon!! and in his "Intrests" section once again, he mentions just about everthing exept bodyboarding or Logic... i dunno hey....


    Anyone who is familiar with MySpace would know what i'm talking about..

    Interesting...i did see a photo of a Bodyboard in amoungst some surfboards, check out the Mozambique trip section...

    He also mentions that some of the photo's were for a magazine, but yeah he only mentions kitesurfing...

    I'll troll the blog later...but based on what you've seen Marthinus and what little i saw, one would have to assume that Logic no longer exists.

    There again...assumption is the mother of all F**K ups.

    "hey, the mag is still alive, we are just wating to get more advertising, the next issue is done but need the cash to go to print, so we are looking at a mag coming out round feb sumtime."

    hahaha, by the time the mag gets printed the content in it will be sooooo dated... i mean there will be articles on stuff like last years Wedge contest that took place over six months ago!! it won't have any news value anymore...

    but i suppose its better than nothing..

    logic is dead guys, we wish craig al the best for his "frogs in socks" (kiteboarding) magazine.

    My next question is this: Why do kiteboarders wear boardshorts over their wetsuits... :?: it has to be the dumbest thing i have ever seen.

    i cant believe another SA bodyboarding mag has closed, i mean how many SA bodyboarder are there? if everyone just bought the mag... and added their good or bad 2 cents worth to the editor the mag would turn out great...
    Far too many people sit back and either moan or dont support the mag then wonder why it closes...

    Yeah it really sucks! Graig is in Richards Bay, shooting kite surfing. So I guess he's moved on for good...But ya, a low blow bodyboarding could do without! :evil:

    Atleast I know I supported it, and other BB brands!

    Logic, R.I.P........JBS you heard a rumor of a new mag? If it's true, I only ask those ou's why? Why try start a whole new mag? Why not just put the cash into keeping Logic alive? Ok for the record I thought the name was doff, but if Logic couldn't get advertisers to pay, what will make any "new" mag any different? Sorry, I don't want to sound negative, but majority of ou's out there who own a BBoard obviously couldn't give a rats if there is a mag or not, or if there are BBoarding brands out there or not.

    I also want to say that if it were not for sixty40 we'd have NOWHERE to talk smack with fellow sponge-heads......SIXTY40 RULES!! I'd dig to see a mag called "sixty40".......

    I've also heard the rumours, and that the new mag is going to be called sixty40.But like I said, rumours.

    Maybe Logic closing down will shock everyone into being less cheap and actually buying the mag,so it could work out positively for any new mag.

    OK guys, seeing as rumours are out and circulating I'll give you a quick heads up but there is release due out soon.

    There is a new mag coming out and it will be call sixty40 magazine. Logic - super bummed that it didn't work out, I understand the money and effort which Craig put into it.

    The 3 guys starting the new mag are the right guys for the job which is why I agreed the use of the brand name and it does allow me to work closely with a print publication which will help us to better promote the sport. Everyone will have their opinion on what happened but I know at least that all the guys involved did try/offer to contribute to Logic. For whatever reasons that did not work out.

    The mag needs support but the guys are good and hopefully you'll buy it because you want to and not because you think you should.

    Yeah those were classic boards especially the one's with striped deck patterns :D

    Speaking of A-Frame,I wonder how many people in S.A know about it,it's a really cool idea,Kelly maybe you could put a link up?

    yea super stoked to hear that all is not lost and that SA will still have its own MAG. Good Luck to all those involved and come on guys, for years SA Bodyboarding Mag was a huge success with Ryan Watkins at the helm...
    lets hope the boys involved can raise the bar he set all those years ago..
