Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls,

I am coming to you on behalf of the Logic team with tragic news. It has been decided by the Logic team to not release the upcoming September/October issue of Logic due to financial constraints.

We have not taken the decision lightly, due to a lack of advertisers and a slew of unpaid adverts from previous issues we will be unable to get the magazine to print. We find this rather disturbing because as far as we've heard the sport is growing at an exponential rate and bodyboard sales are at an all time high.

We are now working hard to restructure the company to make it more efficient and we will be bringing you a bumper end of year issue with all the highlights you missed out on. All we ask of you is to support the upcoming issue so we can continue to bring your South African heroes to you.

    Kind Regards, The Logic Team

    Damn this really sucks.... :x :x :x

Yeah this is something I really feel strongly about,so the problems are with advertising and those of you who don't bother to buy the mag think it's nothing to do with you, well you couldn't be more wrong!People advertise in mags so that people will see their companies,so the more readers the more advertisers,Duh!And obviously the less people buying the mag,the less reason there is for advertisers to waste their money on putting adverts in a mag. Here in Durban most guys I know don't think twice about paying 30 bucks to get into a lame-ass club every Friday night but they can't seem fork out half of that once every 3 months,to not only get a great mag but also support a worthy cause and promote the sport,PLEASE-that is pathetic! And I'll say right now to all of my friends-Your fricken morons,WAKE UP!

So we might be getting a double issue in dec. but how much longer can the mag go on without a larger readership, advertising will continue to decline and then there'll be nothing,we'll have nothing and we'll be back to complaining about not having a mag-when we did nothing to support the one we had.We need to get our acts together.

I take my hat off to all the Cape Town guys who support logic so religiously and anyone else out there who makes the effort and buys every mag, which is more than I can say for my 'mates'.

    Thanks guys.

Jason - awesome bru! If your buddies can't be bothered to spend R15 on a mag then it does make it tough for the guys to financially keep pushing out every issue and fair play to you for getting on their backs. And it does have knock on effects --- Logic might still push out the mag but they'll be doing so on a tight budget ... with a bigger budget - you get better shots - shots which photographers will only part with for decent cash and in the end everyone is happy.

As for the advertisers who have not paid up --- if you're reading ... poor show guys, I hope you pay up soon. We'd love to see you continue advertising but it ain't free.

With the next issue coming out at Christmas a mag or subscription would be a great stocking filler so start hinting!!!

Plus there is even more good reasons to subscribe or renew your subscription:

I Don't subcribe cause I want to get my hands on each issue as soon as possible. Graig normally goes to Sport and Surf and Sport Unlimited first. So... I always give Vaughn a call and get like 3 copies of each issue for myself and my mates (Mark , Justin)

So if you wonder when if the issue is out or not phone Sport 'n surf first thing!

    Later

Martin,it's great that you support your local shop, the only thing I can say though is that subscribing will help the mag attract advertisers because there'll be a guaranteed readership and as we all know more advertisers=more money=better mag.

But as long as people are buying the mag I'm happy.

If you're wanting to subscribe then please try subscribe through http://www.logicmag.com where you have to pay by cheque or bank deposit but if it is easiest for you to pay by credit card then please purchase your subscription through Factory 7 - this is a free service to Logic (apart from the credit card company's commission) so if you're wanting to ensure that most of your subscription fee goes to Logic then this will still ensure that it does.

    http://www.factory7.co.za/boardshop/pro ... cts_id=242

For international guys - you guys can also get your subs from F7 as you can pay by credit card. The extra shipping cost is R100 for the year subscription.
