If you happen to be in Hawaii this weekend, please join us for the premiere of two short bodyboarding films at the Hawaii International Film Festival “Favela Surf Dreams†describes a bodyboarding school in a notorious slum in Rio and “Joy Ride†is about the birth of our sport in Hawaii. They are playing together with “Tow In Surfing†at the Dole Canary Stadium on Saturday October 21 at 8:30 PM.
There will also be a FREE screening on Sunday October 22 at “Sunset on the Beach†at Queens Beach, Waikiki, at about 6 PM or whenever it gets dark.
These shorts are part of an in-progress documentary about bodyboarding around the world. We’re still looking for more footage – especially of big waves and unusual locations – so give me a shout if you’d like to contribute.
