The X-Cell core is quite different than both of the above cores – it has a strong tendency to want to retain its shape when you bend it – so when you bend it, it snaps back to flat really quickly. This recoil is what gives you more projection in your bottom turns. The core also has high buoyancy characteristics, so it floats well without having to make the board any thicker (thick boards make for thicker rails, which move more slowly through the water). And the core is also stronger than polypropylene, and is thus more resistant to creasing, no matter how hard you bust out on it.
