How do bodyboarders handle the winter.Do they just avoid the water for 3-4months...or is it just a mater of getting a wet suit and keep on surfing.

depending where you are winter is the best, cape town gets big and gnarly, southern cape cranks, jbay fires, dunno bout durbs and all but i am sure the cold fronts send good swell up that side.
Dude who stops in winter, if anything its better than summer... i am so over this summer cant wait for the cold rainy weather to start, boots and beanies on the beach, getting into cold sandy wetsuits in the back of the car, surfin in the rain, only bitch is..... lack of daylight kills after work sessions. YES get a wet suit....

a good reef wetsuit will sort you out, say a 4/3 or something like that, ask the surf shop dude to help you with sizes, i wear wetsuit socks (soft sole) and a hoody, but thats cus i am a wus who doesnt like cold at all, and trust me llanduno can get mighty chilly, even at the hight of summer.
Stoked yr stoked dude, keep on charging, its the only way.

Durban definitely gets on the winter program, it's much better, more swell and morning offshores, although we also lose out on after work surfs cos of the shorter daylight hours.
Although up here you can surf in a spring suit or even baggies during the day if it's hot enough cos our water never really gets booty and hoodie cold...

I'd say get a wetsuit and suffer it out, it'll be the coldest winter of your life but the sickest...
