bad vibes

:o just returned from a camping weekend up in plett. The wedge was working! Locals were saying it was the first time in months that the wedge went off and it just happened to be on the weekend we were there. Thank you Maaasterr. The section just off the rocks was pitching and barreling befok. Got some cool compliments and comments from the locals which just made my day. Sunday went around to the wreck but was flat as was the Wedge. Being from Melkbos Ive just got to say - the guys in the water around here (cape town) are generally a frikkin morbid bunch compared to our couzins up the coast. Theres tons of attitude here and it looks to me like only the groms are having a jol. Mebbe im wrong but I had such a good time with the friendly Plett locals that i just got to wonder whats up with the bad vibes

Dude, 4 sure, Sampi and his crew are some of the coolest ous out. I have deep respect for the locals of Plett.
But on any given day boogers just have fun, whenever i surf and its just boogers its happy days, in general i find surfers the grumpy ones, with big chips on their schoulders.

But then again doubt plett ever gets as consistantly crowded (bindging on over crowded) like the spots around here, like llands, kbay and hec even derde steen. We have allot more guys in the water here and because of the distances traveled not everyone knows everyone else so that where bad vibes come from.

my 2 pence.. but yeah just like the locals in the Algarve in Portugal (the coolest dudes i have ever met on my travels) the plet local rank right up there as nice polite genuine dudes who totally kick ass in the water.

    To be very honest,

I also think dat da plett locals are the kiffest guys around, as one on my buddies and myself went up there last year and we met this flippin good DKer (he was a big guy with shortish red hair)- this guy was being awsome to us as another guy there was pissed and was shouting and I happened to be in his way when he was paddling back out and he went off at me, if it wasn't for his friend (the red hair brrrrruda) i don't think i would have felt welcome at wedge again. MUSSIE RESPECT to those BRRRREDES up the wicked southern coast.
    Keep it real,

True as nuts !! After my comments bout the cape town scene I got a real taste of it last night. Heres the story and you guys have to tell me who is the doos. Went out to corner at about 5pm nice clean swell barelling a bit, good fun. I paddle out and theres 6 groms bboarders already in. I paddle out and wait my turn. this big closeout set comes through and I drop into it, I look back when I hear a shout and heres this kid already in it so I pull out- no way he would have made it over to where I was but I pull out anyway get sucked over the falls and get worked. My bad maybe but the section was closing out between us so who knows. when this kid shouted he wasnt warning me he was there he was calling me a "f-cking poes". No lies, so I paddle over to him and I give him the facts of life, told him to calm the f-ck down, I didnt klap him - this time. He tells me I need to learn the rules etc. The fact that I didnt kill him for calling me that is just amazing. Kinda proud of myself. It totally ruined my whole session though and my evening as well. My take on it was if I was wrong I was wrong, it was a mistake, I just didnt see him, I wouldve paddled back out apologised and not done it again. I reckon he overreacted (rugby player in a wetsuit)
we're both locals but there is just no respect-

I fully understand cause I see it all the time.....groms who can do a few moves and think they're THE sh*t.....little punks.....the worst are the stand-ups......dissin' spongers more than twice their age...it's not right, but they do learn everything from the older ou's......it won't ever change.....cause spongers get more waves anyways.......HA HA HA......WE RULE!!!!!!!!!!
