Ok another one for the message board……..
No fights this time, just a serious heavy local called Johnny white.

Last week (Tuesday) Adam grant, dre Giovanni, Simon beezly Rob Grey and myself were enjoying a late afternoon session at Kooel bay.
There were a few ramps and some solid little tubes coming though (waves were 3-4ft and a little onshore) The water was warm and everyone was just having a laugh, nothing serious.
Adam and I had just paddled back from our waves and where sitting out in front of the caves when about 20 meters away this massive white shark broke the surface and did a double tail whip breach right in front of us ( we are questimating the size to be in the 3 – 4 meter region). Needless to say we walked on water back to the beach, Andea freaked out so much that he climbed the muscle bank bare chested, yup he got cut up real bad and has vowed never to surf kooel bay again.

It was a solid rush for me, like something out of national geographic, Rob grey was pissed that it ended the session and wanted to go back in (typical Durban nutta) and Adam was tripping on adrenaline ( this coming for the bloke who does reverse airs on 15ft Bayview) so hard that he couldn’t sit still.
Well it did end the session and soon cars were packed and the boys were heading home.
Simon and I stayed behind with our respective ladies to enjoy the absolute splendour of the Koeel bay sunset over false bay when the bugger breached again.. freaky.

PS we were all back in the water the next day, this time at Llandudno and the only scary thing that day was the water temp (9 degrees apparently)

    hey guys..

meand spex were there earlier that day in the mornin..we arrived to see to surfers walkin up with out boards..they tuned big shark and walked off,we kind of wrte them off as kooks with their lumo suits and carried on down..

apon arriving on the beach,we were greeted by shark warnings by numerous other surfers, hence the empty lineup..it was fully misty and we were lnk spooked but after many hoots and cries of joy at how freakin sick the waves were we paddeled out..we saw something once or twice but hey......

jsred

pfff, im not afraid of sharks, if 1 comes near me i`ll beat him off with my trusty pool noodle, if that doesnt work i`ll just tell him im related to chuck norris and give him a roundhouse kick to the throat.. then they will learn respect.
