    Hey Tortoise!
In the interest of bringing you better DVD's, how would you suggest Pull The Plug could've been better?
Any other comments would be appreciated from anyone who's seen it!

    hey sean..

my points..liked the dvd but here are some things that i could put forward..

.qaulity of riding..i found the standard of ridin lank low compared to other dvds,i know you rip,ive seen you surf..it doesnt do you any justice..rob gray aswell..

.was vey short then again for the short space of time it was fairly decent..
    now for the compliments..

the flowrider stuff was insane, billy is just silly..the waves i cannot even begin to explain how good cave rock is and the editing is well done..

maybe if you guys had filmed for longer it would have allowed you to be more selective in what you used..

but i really liked itand big ups for supportin the support..
and jared, where is that t shirt at?

    jared :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

    Hey Badger,
Thanks for the pointers, we'll try harder in the future.
I'll send you the shirt ASAP, don't worry, i'll let you know when I send it and give you a tracking number and you should have it in a day or two!
    Thanks for the support,
    Sean

    Ok here goes.

Firstly i must say that the flowrider footage was brilliant!!

But maby a bit more riding and less footag of prizegivings and after partys.

I also found that some of the guys whos names were on the back had very little footage (marc jucker... he rips)
Some diffrent camera angles could also help.
    Just my opinion.

Dont get me wrong though i did enjoy it!!

    Thanks Tortoise!
It's difficult to get footage of all the guys in the country, most often we only get to see them at contests which more often than not have KAK waves. Again, something to improve on.
With the camera angles, can you elaborate??? I mean on a couple occasions there were at least two cameras going at the same time, either two on land or one on land and one in the water. What other angles are you looking for?
    Thanks

Ja, the flowrider stuff is some of the best I've seen!

    OK guys.

This is a request from me to support this production - these are the guys that have invested in the sport, spent a lot of cash getting a good set-up, a lot of money driving around looking for waves --- and wasting cash trying to hook up with riders who couldn't be bothered - but that's another issue for another day.

If you haven't got yourself a copy then get one now --- and no need to read on.

Reality is that if you cannot support this then do you think Jared is going to produce another one? Firstly, if you're on the DVD then you should have bought a copy, got your ballies, mates etc to buy. Secondly, if you're a bodyboarder and have in the slightest complained about the state of bodyboarding then you should be buying a copy --- these are the guys who are trying to promote our sport but it's not going to happen if no-one buys. Thirdly, every single SABA member should be buying a copy or hinting for it as a birthday present - you ride the circuit in the hope that it will become more successful and these are the guys that are trying to promote bodyboarding in SA but they need you to support them.

Where can you get a copy ... hit the link below to take you to Factory 7 - very simple, you don't even need a Credit Card, just choose Cash on Delivery.

BUT even better - go to your local surf shop and ask them to get a copy in for you and hopefully they'll get a few more for their stock. MAKE THEM start stocking bodyboarding DVDs, bodyboarding gear etc. (I'll get a contact number or email - I'm not sure which they prefer but I will put it up soon)

The DVD does rock --- but look to the future a bit and you will see what potential there is for future releases. With decent support this will allow them to invest in a future release and it goes without saying that the lessons learnt in the first release will ensure an even better release for the next.

Basically - just start supporting bodyboarding by supporting bodyboarding companies and companies that support bodyboarding --- it is that simple. If everyone did that simple thing then the start-up companies would start making some money rather than folding after putting in a good effort (with little support from the bodyboarding community) and the larger companies would start paying attention --- the power of your wallet is a lot more powerful than you think.

And stop wearing labels, riding boards etc of companies who don't support - I can't say it simpler than it is just plain embarassing. We finance the companies that kick us in the **** - and then go back for more. Not too bright hey? And some of these guys who do are guys trying to make it on the circuit and wondering why they can't - it's because of you buddy! Company strategy - why pump money into bodyboarding when they wear our gear anyway. If it is not going to bring a return on investment then it becomes charity - and what company will in their right mind will throw money at our sport when they can take that money and throw it at another sport which will bring them more sales.

Back to the DVD ... anyone in UK/Europe who wants a copy - I have 2 left at £16 a copy. And have 5 copies of The Project at £15. Drop me a line and we can sort out delivery.

    Later,
    Kelly

Well i totally agree with all that Kelly has just said above! Its one of SA's first DVD's and we should be backing it 100%. Either someone buys a copy and invite all your friends over to watch and check it out or get some premiere launchs going in the towns where possible!

Im not too sure how long these guys took to make the DVD but it takes loads of footage and good riding to pull it off! Every wave only lasts about 5 Seconds!!So try piece all that together to reach a 45minute DVD!!Its hard work and myself and Ivan have been travelling around the world exploring surf for the last year now and only got just about 50 minutes of usable footage. Its more of a personal DVD that probably wont hit the shelves, but those that will see it, will lead to more inspiration to the riders out there to go and explore and do something with bodyboarding and there lives as theres a whole world out there...Ive spent quite some time with Ralph Sanchez(Most NF footage) and Mickey Smith (ABC, Against The Grain etc) and theres lots of time, patience and effort goes into it. It can also be loads of fun to get into the films and work with the guys, so the only thing i could say if someones shooting get down there and give them support and you'll have your own adventures, laughs and make new friends.Remember at the end of the day they are standing there using there time to film you. So when youre in the water give it horns!!!

At the end of the day its a SA video to promote SA guys and riding. If they went around the world filming all the pro's and getting the footage then ja you can demand better footage and quality! But what these guys have done and made deserve full respect from everyone!SA has got some sick spots and it sounds like its based on SA riders only. So if you think your good and charge in the water you should be seeing yourself in the next video or trying to help promote it...

I ordered a PULL THE PLUG and can't wait to get it!!
I live in Texas so it will be a couple weeks!lol!
Look forward to see some of that SA boardin action!!

I totally agree with Kelly ^^!!
"stop wearing labels, riding boards etc of companies who don't support"!!

Those companies that don't support bodyboarding are laughing at bodyboarders that wear/use their gear all the way to the bank!haha!
They just think "SUCKERS"! We don't need to support or sponsor their events we already have them in our pocket!lol!
RALLY UP GUYS!!! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE and it's something everyone can come together, united, and do!!

Oh hey! Does anyone know what happened to bodyboarder.com?
Suspended? Hope it's back up again soon I made some great contacts on there! :(

Hey guys, stoked to see ur all amped for the vid!!! Unfortunately, due to the hectic pace of life in general, and the fact that I want the next vid to be the BUSINESS, it shall only be released in a years time :( I really wish it could have been this December but I would then have to compromise on the quality of the production...and alas I cannot bring myself to do that.

But rejoice, for it is not all that bad. I'm off to Hawaii in January with all the other Saffas, as well as planning a few missions next year to some of the lesser travelled places along our East coast.

The trailer/s will be up within the next week or 2. And should give you, the viewers, a glimpse as to the quality of footage/editing you can expect in the next vid.

    Cheers for now
