    Future of the MEN'S DIVISION

Can any learned sixty40 reader or someone in the know (Sally, Riaan, AT, Pat, etc...) Please tell us what has happened with the men's division. There was talk of either creating a NEW division for riders who where between 18 an 21 who did not want to surf in the PRO division, or allowing those between to 18 and 21 to join the 21-27? Year olds who where already surfing the men's division.

There are a number of Men's riders who obviously need to decide for next year what division to surf in... if they are going to lump the men's and non-pro 18-21 year olds together, then it makes sense for some to rather surf pro, as most teams have more slots for pro riders in the team. If Men's is still around, and a new division is created for non-pro 18-21 year olds, then its a toss up between men's and pro, and if they leave things the way it was last year then most would surf in the men's division again.

Its 2 weeks away from the first SABA contest, does anyone know if a decision has been taken by SABA, and if so what it is.

    thanks.

    Peter

Men's division is now 18 or older on the 1 Jan for the contest year.

The Membership form is available under the SABA Forum which has details of the divisions breakdown.
