Not been able to get your hands on the brands you want? Well, times are changing - South Africa can now look forward to its very own online board shop which aims to launch in October. Factory 7, which will be brought to you by the guys behind sixty40, has been born from this very desire - to provide you the rider with the goods you want, no matter where you are. Additionally, the industry now has a store which can support companies who are trying to break into the market, providing them with an outlet to sell their goods nationwide .
Initially Factory 7 will be more geared towards the bodyboarding consumer, however, over time more brands will be brought in to align ourselves with our other two core markets - surf & skate.
Payment options will include secure Visa & Mastercard Credit Card payments along with Bank Transfer and Cash on Delivery options for those without cards or who are sceptical of internet transactions. And with free shipping on orders over R200 it is not going to cost you extra to buy your goods online.

I am definitely involved, Factory 7 is a partnership which has been set-up between myself and Derek. My expertise on the web side is focused on setting up and keeping the online store running (one reason why sixty40 has been a bit quiet lately, apologies!), but it is Derek who will be managing the store and we are looking forward to a launch date which will be in early October.
Our aim is to provide you guys and girls with the products you want - specifically those which you can't easily find at your local stores and providing somewhere for start-up brands to submit some stock on consignment. We won't be able to launch with all - a lot of stock is only hitting shores in November - but we will be working on getting those brands in. We can't promise that we can stock a specific brand but if you want it then send an email to us which will also help us to gauge consumer demand.
We'll be putting a release out on sixty40 closer to the time so I won't be going into too much detail but something you can look forward to is that we are stocking "Rejected" and you can check out some of their range on
http://www.rejected.com.au ... Rejected is owned by the current world champ Damian King and has just hit our shores for the first time ... and it's a pretty sick range!
Factory 7 will also allow me to pump a little money into sixty40 and we are going to be sponsoring the media coverage for SA Champs this year, so once it's up and running you will be able to look forward to some articles backed with some quality shots.
