Ok guys. what's up? this is how it works with Supersport. Longboarding has huge contacts with Oxbow in France and they pay a fortune into the sport which is why it is being broadcasted. No money no honey cuzzies.
You do not get paid for putting shows on Tv, you have to find the sponsors that are willing to support your sport, and go and organise contracts with them which could run into R40K per show. Mnet charge aronud R5000 just for the show to be broadcasted.
Unfortunately I'm currently moving to the UK in the next month. I have been organising for the entire year to try and get bodyboarding on TV, and have two friends of mine that are interested in taking over the circiut for tv if a sponsor is found. I'm still going to carry on handling the graphics from the Uk for these projects if they take place. This is all dependant if PicknPay come on board. We still havent heard from them about sponsoring the tv shows.
I've organised another contact of mine to do some stuff for an extreme sport show he is handeling. It sux with the contraversy and politics in sport. Quiksilver, Volcom Gotcha etc, will never pump money into bodyboarding for a tv show. So its pretty much up the administration to organise cash for tv and the tv producers to get the shows broadcasted.
Bodyboarding companies need to stop pocketing and start delivering if this is going to happen.
Got the best waves of my life in Gland, got killa footage of dreamland shorebreak. Hope to surf with all you guys soon.
