for the youngens who are surfi n the bayviewcomp,i went there yesterday to go surf it..kokkerot was like ten feet and closing out,so i was like cool,practise session.got to bayview and it was just starting to crumble..
so didnt surf but fully sussed the place out...it is lank intimidatin,.super sharky and looks lank heavy..the jump is ok dependin on the size,so that is alright..apparently there will be waverunners in the water makin things a bit easier...riaan could you please clea that up..
so all i can say is shine up those big wave balls and bring some spare legs..dodgy...see you guys there..where is everyone stayin..

Lines of fire crew will probably be going up to the hermanus area in the hope of filming some practise sessions at bayview this weekend. There is a contest briefing on the Friday and we have a bit of footage that Shaggy shot on Ryan Junker's camera, that has been edited into a bayview "what's your excuse clip" its only like 40 seconds, but apparently there are some other video clips that are also going to be shown, and in addition we will also re-show the lines of fire teaser that was originally seen at the WP Prizegiving. If you are keen to come to the briefing, contact Riaan Du Prez, or myself, and if anyone is keen to hook up for a film at bayview, then you can sms me on 083 313 6106. Obviously if it is not big enough, then we will try and find another heavy reefbreak in the area to ride and film.

Ok its still far in the future, well as far as swell predictions go and allot can change between then andn now. But after a close inspection of the swell crystal ball (ie the net) it looks like a sold clump of swell arriving mon/tuesday next week for the Bayview. So lets hold thumbs. Currently looking in the 10 - 15ft range... so grab your boards kids, cos its gonna be a thumpa -- this weekend looks like it has possibilities, might be big but not big enough for Bayview.

jo jared,i surfed bayview the past weekend,6-8ft,though its nothing that bayview can deliver it was still no joke.im still not sure how to get out,bit sketchy,its going to be some contest.goodluck to all the young guys and newcomers and to all the other riders.thanx for all the people that suport the young riders.

That is 100% correct what you are saying jared, Bayview needs big swell, Last week me, Justin theunis and Wener( came 6 in last years event) went in on a i think 11 foot ground swell. This is the sickest wave ever we Had so much fun, 6+- and nice but I just ,brake. I heard there is a 15 foot swell coming so Bayview might delivering hopefully not exceeding 12 foot
But coming out is bit well yes what can I say where do you come out, I just went straight out pushing my luck and luckily not hurting myself.

Yes they were there... in the kelp but did'nt bother, just thought of sharks though cause the others went out before me and I was waiting for a nice set, did'nt get one though.
