Help on Retro or Hubb ...
If you're set on these two then I had a look at the two templates and my advice would be to go for the Hubb.
Retro:
Quote:
Speed, speed and more speed pretty much sums up this board. Tricked out with seamless rails, deep cut channels, quad pin tail and nose piece, this board mixes new school technology with old school stylings.
Length 42"
Nose 13.75"
Width 21.75" @ 15.5"
Hubb:
Quote:
Designed by the aerial master himself, the Hubb 41.5 comes standard with new inlay deck grips, mini channels, white surlyn bottom and an all new template. This board is made to BOOSTÉ.
Length 41.5"
Nose 12"
Width 21.5" @ 18"
Tail 18.25"
Check out the Retro's dimensions - really wide nose (13.75") and a wide point quite a lot closer to nose of the board (@ 15.5") compared to the Hubb which has a 12" nose and a wide point at 18". When they say old school stylings they aren't lying reminds me of the old T10's back in the day when Ben Severson was busting on them. And sure the guys riding them used to be able to get heaps of speed, make impossible tubes etc but as for busting out on them but I'm not sure about new school manoeuvres on this board and if you're even thinking about riding DK I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole - with such a wide nose and a wide point that far forward you're going to be fighting against the board more than anything.
If you purely ride prone then maybe the Retro is for you - I haven't seen or ridden one myself ... as for the Hubb - a few mates have them, very stoked with them - a little problem with the 2004 model with snapping them along the inlay deck (2 guys I know) but they look to have sorted this out with the 2005 model.
Hope the advice helps bru!
