    Hey T

I have recently bought a Rossi bodyboard. Custom made 41' Ultima replica. Well its was about 3 months back, but thats still quite recent. Previously riding a Custom X quest 41'.

I actually had it custom made by Marc and because i was up in Durbs at the time, i was able to collect it from him. As i mentioned in one of the other forums, im not too familiar with Durbs, and i was staying at the Bluff for my stay in Durbs. I contacted Marc with the specs of the board when i arrived in Durbs and he had it ready for me before i left, which was within 3 days! (He's pretty quick with!) I was impressed. Anyways i had to fetch it by him, but as i said, i wasnt too familiar with Durbs, so he offered to deliver it to me (Now thats service).

To cut my already long story short, I was impressed with the service, bearing in mind that he is a very busy man, shaping quite a bit of boards daily and this was in the festive season 2004/2005.

After riding it for three months, i have come to love it. Good quality deck and materials. The board is fairly quick, although the Custom X Quest is slightly faster, mainly due to the less rocker in the board and more weight. Well it's a bit of a trade off. I get more control and air with the Rossi becaus of its lightness and channels. I've leanrt to orientate my board and body to achieve as much speed as i have been getting from my old board.

My one suggestion about the the Rossi board, maybe if Marc can come up with more variety in design and increase marketing abroad. The marketing is important because guys like me read magazines and see pro riders and look at what they riding, which makes us wana get those board, for example Elemenopee is doing a pretty good job on the international scene which their boards and the way they market them.

Last and definately not least, ALWAYS SUPPORT THOSE WHO SUPPORT BODYBOARDING, BUT SUPPORT SOUTH AFRICAN BODYBOARDING FIRST!

    Peace

    Howzit guys,

I ordered my first Rossi in 2002. It was definitely the best board I have ridden in my life. After I had it for about a year, the rail came off on a "elands on the verge of closing out" day, but the speed still lives with me. Fixed it myself and worked super. It reaching the end of it's life now, but before the end of the week, I will be ordering another two boards - gotta get the little brother off my wrecked CX!

Not really the place as you are looking for feedback T, but it would be useful if anyone could give me some advice. I see Marc can now add on hip lock channels and elbow grips. Is it worth the extra weight?

    Thanks,

    Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments and questions, tauriq glad to hear your board is going sweet man and yeah marc is a very down to earth friendly guy, always willing to listen to me and have a chat when i bother him in his workshop:),
as for your speed problem, i have only ridden a Rossi and wave rebels, i moved to Rossi when WR went under, i have had my Rossi since 2002 same as Daz, and i have not had to replace mine till now, yes thats 3 years with the same board, its still light and no rail or nose or tail peeling, its still quick and my air moves improved mucho! I am gonna tell Marc to read this forum himself so he can think, sought out all the problems and requests you guys have, as for the international side of things im pretty sure marc does send boards over there already. To get to your question about the hiplocks and channels. the space where the hiplocks go is actually removed so you loose weight there im sure (marc please correct me if im mistaken), and the elbow pads on my board are the same, i think the new boards have the risen pads not too sure, but its really a small part of the board, i dont think it will make much of a diffrence at all.

Keep the Q coming guys, i might not be able to answer all you queries but i can try, what i dont know ill ask Marc himself and get him to post here too.

Keep it in the Air !!

    Hey guys,

Well, i got my Rossi about a month ago, and I have never felt that I could have made a better choice since....

When Ty ( TAMEGA ) came down to CT to he dropped the board off ( BIG up man ) so I didn't have any trouble with delivery... Anyways as I was saying, He handed me the board, and I nearly threw it across the carpark, oh my sack, THE NEW ROSSI's ARE SOOOO LIGHT!!! And they handle nicely too, got this perfect 7 second barrel( no jokes man, 7 seconds! ) at Long Beach right after the surfers voetsacked 'cos the weather was too hardcore for the ripcurl gromsearch... well the weather was a little bit gnarly, sideways rain, gale force wind, thunder, lightning... but that didnt stop me and 2 mates scoring some fun 2 to 4 foot little point breaks.....

But I digress, about the Rossi, well this board can take a beating as well, heres the story... 6 to 8 foot maybe even 10 foot on the sets at Scarborough... Anyways I paddle out twice and both times I get caught in the rip ( aaahhhhh!!!! ) anyways, you know the rocks and that scary reef thingy in front of the car park? I hit that thing, TWICE.... but my board doesnt even scratch as I climb up this little mountain while getting beaten by the sets....

Anyways, If you have to buy a new board, make sure its a ROSS! cos they are the best AND you'll be supporting the bb scene in South Africa!

    BB4LIFE!!!!!

    Cheers,

Bro it was only a pleasure dropping your board off man, although i cant deliver the same service to everyone as i did with you man:), just a lucky strike i guess, bro sick barrel times i think i have only got that once in my life, maybe i just need to practice more;), Guys Rossiboards is local and for a local distributer he is doing mighty fine!!! his boards are quick and light maybe not so much as others? but,,,, he should be on the proudly south african list!!

    keep it in the air
