i scored good waves in the algarve (south portugal) a few years back (during the english summer) it was pretty cheap, rented a car cos you need one, camped, drank lots of that green stuff...absinth and partied in Largos with hot portugeese hunnies. Oh the waves where pretty good too, zavial, carapatia and arafina bay all cooked while i was there. You aint gonna get grinding hawaii but its worth the mission, the best surf culture in the world i rekon.
