The best thing you could do is stop surfing silkeys!

Silkys is a perfect place to learn your rolls bru.

I actually learnt my first real good rolls at 'duckies' infront of the lifesaving club.

Silkys is a fairly fast breaking close out type wave,so make sure you get in heaps early and get to the bottom,a good roll always starts with the bottom turn.
Pick out your launch pad and keep your eyes locked on it,remember it might be right above you.
You now need to act quickly,if the section is a few ftaway from you, keep your movements gradual,(you maintain speed better this way),however if its right above you, angle straight up,aiming for cleanest part of the lip.
Once your there, begin the roll, tilt your head up,dont flick it or try jump around, just tilt it back, your body follows your head.

You should now be upside down, involve the rest of your body, try opening your legs slightly and extending your arms(not too much). This is also a good time to tune into your landing spot.

There is no secret to hitting the lip at the right time. You have been in the water for 4 months, im almost in my 10th year and i still screw up plenty sections(normally in contests doh).

Just keep trying.Look at photos of mark watts rolling,he is ACE!
