Board Order Problems!!!

    December 2004
    Ok...

After posting the post about which board i should get (bz/lmnop), most people recommmended i try rossi.... so i thought i should since i'll b helping out a local guy &getting a top notch board!
i ordered the board just over a month ago, then 2 weeks later i got a call from rossi 2 say it was ready! so the next day i deposit the money & fax off the deposit slip 2 him & start waiting for the notification 4 me to fetch it from the post office!
Then... just when i'm expecting the board to arrive, i get an sms from rossi asking whether i have depositted the money yet (meanwhile i had depositted it about a week b4).
So i end up faxing the deposit slip 2 him again.... that was on thurs 16/12.
i'v sms'd him twice since then to find out if he got it, but i got no reply!
Now its a bit of a f**k up coz i'm supposed 2 b leaving 4 a road/surf trip on tues & i have no board!!! (snapped my leash on my other board the other day & it got smashed against the rocks)
So now i'm sitting around with no board, R1650 of mine in rossi's account & i'm prob gonna have to postpone/cancel the roadtrip!!!

What should i do... i dunno how to handle it, coz i cant get hold of him (phones just ring)!!! :x

I am shocked!!! From what I know about the Rossi guys is that they are big on service, though I have heard that their board are over rated. Anyway, like it has been said before, if this is true... well I guess that would be bad for his business.

I'm not out to bad mouth the business, but this is wat has happened & i just think others should be made aware of it b4 considering ordering a board from them in the future!
The main worry is the money tho... i mean, R1650 is alot of money (been saving 4 6months), and now that moneys sitting in their account and i've got nothing to show 4 it!!!
I'm sure the board will eventually arrive & i look 4ward to riding a brand new board wen i get it! :)
As 4 my trip... we'v postponed it till i get the board, however if i havn't got it by 26/12 we'l prob call it off all together!
I'll keep you posted with wat happens.... hold thumbs 4 me!!!

    Cheers... grego

    Ok

Im sensing alot of tention from you guys, and i can understand why!!!
there are no excuses for whats happened IF Marc Russouw (not just THE Rossi Guys) has been neglegent in the matter, however!!!! if you have not heard from him and his side of the story then dont make assumptions like he is a slacker (grrr!) and if you have left your board late in the year at this time even november then dont be surprised if you dont get it before Jan, even if its done and ready for posting Dude, he might take time of over december to relax which he deserves, i think.

so i think ill call marc myself tomorow early hours and check up on this little mix up, the dude who posted this forum, please PM (private message) me your number, i would like to chat to you about the situation on the phone, shot man.

and all you other guys who seem to dislike Rossi Boards and there prices, well thats your opinion and your entitled to it, my opinion, well i support those companys who support BB BUT!!!!! I support local before anything else, and i dont care about the price either ill pay 2500 if i have to for another Rossi, because of the service and the quality of MY board.

    Have a Great Day

Tamega you are right. It is hard for us though co we don't know Mr. Roussouw personally. But people do all have their opinions and if you ask enough people ALL board brands are crap and at the same time those same brands willbe called the best in the world depending on who you ask.

But don't forget who sponsored a board for JP Nel (Lost his leg to a shark) That was Rossi.

So I guess the best thing to do is see what happens and form an opinion from there.

As far as delivery times are concerned though, don't take orders this time of year if you can't deliver within your stipulated time frame.

I hav no prob at all wtih rossi boards & certainly dont think they crap (else i wouldn't be ordering 1!)

The thing is... when i first contacted marc about ordering the board (mid november), he said that he had finished all his shop orders & that he had time to make the board & that he would beable to get the board to me in 2weeks! i was never expecting it to be here that quickly.... was expecting it to be more like 3 weeks to a month, which would'v been cool coz i still would'v had the board by the time i needed it!!

As for hearing his side of the story... i haven't been able to get hold of him! I'v tried to phone him but it just rings & goes to voice mail! i'v also sent numerous sms' & left voice mails but he hasnt got back to me!!!
This is the main reason why i'm so pissed off!!! if he had called me up & told me that i wasnt gonna get the board on time it would'v been cool! at least i would'v known wat was happening then & i could'v made a plan to borrow a board from someone!
But now i havnt heard from him for a while & hav no clue whether the board is in the post (which could be delayed at this tiime of the year!), or if he still has it!

    Tamega... i'v pm'd u my number!

    Cheers

this is just a sad indication of the level of service most south african companies offer, Rossi, word bru, dont fuck us saffas around, my bud who was interesed in one of your boards went a bought a more expensive import board cos you never got back to him, end of the day you loose, but i guess if you dont give a fuck there is noth ing we can do, like he was so interested in the ST model, but couldnt find a image on the net of what it looked like. You have a monopoly, use your buisnes brain and work it. Use your web site, hire a grom and teach him how to shape, fuck i will help you out on this if you want. Fuck bru i dig your boards, sort it out.
Say what you mean and mean what you say, if you promice 2 weeks then it better be 2 weeks.

    Hey Spy Dude

Ok man heard what you have to say, and ill make sure Marc reads it so he can sought out the few problems he has. You have been BB for nearly as long as i have been alive!! Its good that guys in the industry, like yourself view your opionions, it helps the industry grow and become better than yesterday! i advise everyone who reads this to try and do the same, but maybe phone or email the person involved which i think you Spy Dude should do man! i am not Rossi or anyway part of the business itself, i just ride the boards and tell Marc issues i see here. so email him please SD and im sure he will be open eared to any advice you have.

RossiBoards has come along way and it will be sad for these types of things to happen in the future. thanks for the word bro and hope you get tubed this weekend!!

No need to, we have been in discussions, and i for one WANT rossi to be THE board all saffa riders are on, with our support to rossi we can make the sport affordable to all and not just the elite few can can afford to fork out 2-3 grand for a Cutom Z or bubb.
Reality is the ou needs to hear from us, his boards have been discussed and discussed, SA saw the introduction of the ST model (which blew my mind considering i was hanging with ST and got to watch him ride it in so many different wave conditions and it totally cooked.
This is a public forum, and its the best place for issues like this to be discussed, all marc needs to do is capitolise on the negatives, turn them into positives, even if it means hiring a PA to sort out delivery probelms and handle customer calls.
I support Rossi big time, my next board will be a rossi.
    Thants my piece.
PS i will be willing to offer marc any of my expertise in marketing and media solutions. I want this board company to succeed.

    Hi Guys

Im new to the site and just wana voice my opinion. I contacted Marc Rossouw in about November and told him that I wanted to order a board from him but I would let him know when I needed it for caus i would be on a road trip in December and would be in Durban around Christmas to pick it up. I contacted him just before we left on our trip which was under a week before Christmas. He told me that I should give him a call when I arrived in Durban because he was on holiday a should return on the day we arrived in Durban.

When I arrived in Durban I gave him a call and told him that I was ready to pick it up. I basically gave him the specs of the board over the phone and 2 days later he gave me a call to say the board is done and ready to be picked up. This was the first time I was in Durban so I wasn’t familiar with the place. He asked if I could pick the board up by him but I wasn’t familiar with the roads in Durban so I told him so and if he could bring it to a familiar place. He was so understanding, he brought the board right to the place I was staying at in Durban, NOW THAT’S SERVICE.

I don’t know about any other people that have experienced any problems but I can tell you guys out there that the service I got from Marc wasn’t required, he did it out of his own and he appears to be a nice guy.

The board is great and delivers on performance.
Just a story I thought I would share to everyone. Also just in support of those who said previously that supporting bodyboarding is important, but supporting local bodyboarding should come first from any proud South African bodyboarder....

    Peace
