Chris Elliott... sometimes know as Chris Elliott-Spencer, sometimes even Chris Elliott-James :) Some funny moments on the dance floor in durbs, some funny facebook moments, some really funny cape classic moments... Always a source of laugher, always a source of fun, always an inspiration to progressive bodyboarding. The most textbook inverts. A ferocious competitor, a team mate, a charger, a man with a mouth, but most of all a flipping amazing bodyboarder and even more amazing human being. There is an empty space that cannot be filled and a person who cannot be replaced. We’ll miss you.

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Chris Elliot.
Chris always had a smile and a story for anyone who would listen,
his loud and boisterous nature could only be overshadowed by his undying passion and love for the sport.
    May he rest in peace.

An INSANE bodyboarder that South Africa will miss now and in the future!
I remember him at SA"s in Cape Town and Herolds a few years back as the most crazy and enthused grom ever. When he moved down to cape town i got the chance to surf alot more with the super talented "crizzle"....amazing guy with an amazing competitive nature!

Chris was the life of the Party, always the most cheerful guy and charged hard in and out the water. He made an impression on everybody who was lucky enough to meet him and he's going to be sorely missed.
He was with us for way too short a time but still managed to live life to the full.
Our thoughts go out to his family and loved ones.
    Gonna miss you Chrizzle!

this is a sad day for us, the sport and life. i am glad that i did get to know Chris. Chris ,as his father Guy, were a remarkable sport person with the spirit of a winner. i still remember the way Chris handled the situation when WP gave him the trophy and 30 seconds later told him sorry, he came second. he handled it like a true gentleman. thanks for the 2 years that you were part of the science team. i was proud to had you as a team rider and really sad when i lost you as a team rider. to his Mom and Dad, I hope that you will find the strenght to get through this sad times. I will pray to God that He will be with you both. I will miss your big mouth and funny jokes. bye Chris.

jeez, heavy....one of the best bbers to ever come out of SA, and he hadn't even hit his prime yet - Chris had a big future....but I'm sure he's inspired a lot of guys too with his radical surfing....he's going to live on on in the riding of others for years to come...

Always so amped on the surf and a good party... We're gonna miss you bud!

What can I say that hasn't been said! Chris was a great guy, full of life and of course talent! One of the things that will stick in my mind is how he always came bouncing into a room filled with energy. He was able to change the mood instantly. He was special and will be sorely missed. Cannot believe wat im reading right now
    Such an amazing guy.
Only knew him for a short while.
Was looking foward to seeing him and Wes at trial number 4 too.
I was so sure he was gonna walk away with the SA title.

Intense character, full of life, ill rapper, sooper stylish bodyboarder and a number one standup guy to the max who inspired me as Im sure alot more.
    Huge loss to the sport.
He was destined for big things.
I was sure he would go all the way aswell.

You wont be forgotten my main man.
My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

    RIP.

    Hey buddy,

didnt know you super well, but had some good paddles and got some good shots of you on the west coast...just remember how stoked you were after every bomb you got and the expression on your face said it all ;)

well ive just returned back to SA and heard the news..yes been a lot of questions of what actually happened? Know its maybe none of my business or if you feel my question is wrong please ignore it...

but heard it was drink driving related which was the cuase of this? does anyone know exactly what happened? The article is cool and everything sixty40 have done and what not but got a strange feeling about a truth that is being hidden from his cause of death? people say they were all drunk in a car racing around constantia roads? Yes might sound like a teacher here but just dont drink and drive full stop!! nothing more simple than that, remember its lives you are playing with not just yourself...

not to sure and just thought it would be interesting as no know really knows the truth. if you think this question is in appropriate or should not be answered please ignore :)

either way real shame to see a good guy pass away and will all be dearly missed by fellow bodyboarding companions all over the show.

condoluncense to family and friends. see you in the water on wednesday and will get a barrel for you!

Yesterdays memorial at Llandudno was a truly moving experience me.
I got to see just how intense and massive his impression got made on and in alot of people's hearts.
He was loved unconditionally and awed by people he didnt even know felt that way.
He taught me a thing or two in the brief time that I knew him and he made me remeber what it felt like being as young and as enthusiastic as he always was in everything I ever saw him do be it dancing, rapping, laughing in that high pitch of his and especially in his riding.

He sure as hell left a lasting impression on me and made me want to achieve and push myself more in my life too.
Im gonna be adding life to my days & not days to my life from now.
So thank u to his parents, friends and family for moulding such an awesome young man that wont be forgotten as long as my memory serves me well.

Chris, we all loved u & u will be sorely missed u biscuit!

    RIP.

PS: Thanks for wetting our shoes yesterday, u sneaky bugger,
    NO-one saw it coming
