Where is the winter swell?????

Beside for that super swell pattern that moved in a while back, there has been no real winter swell in Cape Town or have I just been sleeping and missing out on it?

Anybody been getting any good surf of late??????

I'm dieing here, haven't been in on the sponge for way to long

haha... i was about to create exactly the same topic.... dont worry ints not only cape town... Durban has been so flat this winter.... hopefully due to this whole global warming thing it will be a late winter and we can get some solid winter swell everywhere

Not sure where you ou's have been trying to surf but out here on my side there's been plenty of waves. Not big but totally rideable. I've snagged more than a few 8ft take-off's this past month. I got waves on...Wednesday (2-3ft perfect), Thursday (lumpy and wedgy3-5ft) and Friday (clean 4-6ft till the wind came up and trashed it, but I stilll stayed out till sunset)....all after work last week, didn't surf Monday or Tuesday cause my boards were at home and my car was in for a service, but still had a look and it was cooking. For me it's been one of my best season's in years......

hey chinychinchin....

where u be getting surf? don't have to give exact spots and locations... I've been out on the west coast side mostly as our offices are in milnerton, so i take a drive down there after work... alas I have not been rewarded.

Bru we're talking about the same place......I've have been heading straight for the most popular, packed out, over-surfed, kite-board and wind-surf tourist trap this side of Milnerton and I scored every time. There MUST have been waves in Milnerton last week as well!!!!! I heard that the Steen was cranking as well. Friday the waves we're kiff but the crowd was LARGE and lank grumpy. Seriously I've been getting such fun waves. Just keep your eyes on the swell and wind forcasts....

BTW on Friday there is a swell of 5m at 13seconds hitting our coast, but the NW wind is going to pump at about 45kph. Not to worry though, Monday morning it's going to be 3.5m at 14seconds and the wind straight offshore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohooo!!! That means you SHOULD take the day off, get work late or whatever but it's going to be classic.

I'm there like a bear... whether the boss likes it or not ...LOL... cant pass up surf like that. Thanks for the heads up.
