Car breakins

  • May 2008
    Hey all WP riders,

yes another two cars got broken into yesterday at derdersteen while the guys were riding. wallets, phones, brandnew reef board bag etc. Apparently keep an eye out for a old white opel kadett car. normally has a few kids in there drinking or getting upto no good. so if you going for a paddle around blouberg side keep an eye out for the cars in the parking lot, esp this car!!

maybe if you guys are bored and want to catch the dudes set a trap or so? let your friends go ahead and paddle and you drive past about 15mins after they head in the water or stake out around the corner somewhere?

if you unsure you can take down the license plate number and hide all your wallets etc super well!!

    chow for now

    Ah no thats flipping bleak...

I went there after work yesterday and saw Dan's and another car parked...i looked for them, but the mist was too thick.

I actually thought about how their cars were prime targets with no-one else there and with the mist being so thick that they probably couldn't see their cars from the water.

As i left another car pulled up but it was a Mom and her kids who came to check if it was rideable.

Does anyone have the answer to this problem?

Maybe i should leave my Pitbull in my car while i surf.

  • May 2008
well yup pitball in the car would be best solution for now...

ja was dan and ian's car. they must have left just before you pulled into the parking lot.

Damn it...we were victims at the wedge in plett - its the worst feelin in the world....coming from a sick session only to find out youv got a nice freezy aircon hole in ur car....yep, mark - i think we need to pull off a sneaky stake out trap for these babilons... and giv them a nice solid beating - somethin like kalkbay would giv u on a 8 foot day going straight into the reef...mmm now thats an idea...

    keep it real

I've been really lucky at derdes, I've forgotten to lock my a couple of times... guess I should be more careful. I think we should track these monkeys down and give them a f good old fashioned beat down and then drop call the cops on them like the good old days. when shop keepers would beat and hold hostage shoplifters till the cops eventually arrived. :D

I drive past derdes almost every day, will have a look if that white opel is in the surrounds when I cruise down that stretch.

    Im in.
I reckon we set up a sting a hit em HARD!!!

Reckon during the week is best too tho cos not as many civilians around then.

    Who's with me?

  • May 2008
Hmmm good old beat down? Sounds like a plan...

My house got robbed last year somtime..and the cops caught the guys with out stuff down blouberg road..they dragged them back to my house and beat the s%$# out of them in my garden (This was the cops doing the dirty work) and then only took the to the station...

So i rate the cops wont mind.. Sometimes the only way to get some sense into some people is to beat it into them.. If you cant make a living by doing honest things..crime doesnt help...

Similar thing was happening to the kiteboarders parking at Sunrise beach. Turns out that the okes watch from the dunes and then hit it when the goings good. So its not always guys in cars... just a thought.

Personally I'm not one for getting myself within knife range, or even a fan of bruising my knuckles on some ou's pip, so I always been keen to hook up one of those manic paintball guns that pelt a million bullets a second and then sniper the punks from the dunes. Couple of paint tags on the car and the guys would help the cops track em down too (although shooting people with those guns is probably illegal so I guess I might end up in the kak...)

How about ruff african justice - I heard this story while in Nairobi where some guy had his Range Rover stolen for the 3rd time so he left a half Jack of Whisky in the cubbiehole - except is was laced with poison and he put a label on it: "Do Not Drink - Poison" Of course the moegoes drank it and they found his car 5 ks down the road with to dead thieves... He didn't even get charged..!

Geez this is bleak! Can't even go for a surf these days without becoming a target for some scaly ****s.

JMO has a good point though, you dunno what these punks are carrying (guns, knives, pangas, etc). And they'll also see who you are if you go giving them a beating. Okes like that would probably think nothing of hunting you down and popping a cap into your head once they've found you. I like the idea of taking sniper shots at them  You used to be able to get bb guns that shot little pointed metal pellets...are they still sold??? A couple of shots to the back of these ****'s heads should help some.

I can only hope you guys are all merely letting off steam, but it's still pretty upsetting to read that you'd like to catch people and beat them up, regardless of what they have done... Come on guys, get a grip! Do you seriously propose vigilantism in a country that already has far too little respect for the law?

i rate we do away with the prision system all to gether, we should just forgive everyone, if someone steals from you.. forgive him, rapes your wife, sister, mom, forgive him, kills your brother... yup you forgive him, God will get him one day, unless he repents then he will sit next to you in heavan. Now hows that for a flipping richious daydream....

Peter, God help me if i ever catch some mofo breaking into my car, house, etc. Yes I will respond with due coarse, and its in this light my mind wonders into another daydream.... i would love to see that little bit of islamist law come into play, you steal, your hand gets chopped off, you rape, your willy gets chopped off, you kill someone, yeah well ... YOU DIE!.
    Again another day dream...

I do like JMOs idea about stake out with paintballs, just substitute the paintballs for tranqulisor darts, mofo is breaking into your car the one minute, the next he wakes up in jail with a few cracked ribs and one massive headache. (cracked ribs will come from one seriously good kick when he is asleep -- just to make sure he is asleep)
The problem with this country is that Criminals have way too many rights and their victums have Fokkal.

Yes, I must admit, I find myself having the same daydreams as Spy.

The police are underpaid and understaffed and quite frankly fuckin useless in general, so why the hell should I sit back and let some doos who thinks he has the right to hurt me, my family or my property get away unscathed???

I mean in what alternate reality does it make sense to say that individual A shouldn't have the right to be pissed off and go ape shit on a guy who just fucked up my car and stole R3000's worth of shit??? Why should I have a drop of sympathy for some tikhead who just raped some girl or murdered another old Proffessor at UCT?

I'm sorry, but what I am about to say is horrible and I might regret saying it, but somewhere in a dark crevice of my soul I believe that the world has lost much more when a honest, hard working citizen is killed as opposed to some worthless piece of shit murderer/rapist. Somewhere in me something tells me the one's life is worth more than the other's. Somewhere in me I know this to be wrong, but I just can't help this hatred and this anger. And I blame the one's I hate for this hatred!

But I agree that vigilantiism in principle is wrong!!!, since some people might think that a car thief deserves to die, whilst other would take pleasure in torturing and eventually killing a rapist themselves.

It will be a sad and dark day for humanity and the soul when you go to that dark place and take that irreversable step! Man isn't built for murder! Why else do you think these assholes take tik to psyche them up in the first place? They woul most likely not have killed you had they not been on drugs?

I don't know anymore...everything's just so fucked up! I hate this hatred in me!!! I wasn't always like this, but nowadays I can count the number of people I know who weren't affected by serious crime on one hand...and it hurts!!!

I have a right to not feel like this! I have a right to not be afraid to walk in one of the greatest cities in the world at night! I have a right to not have to lay awake at night and pray that nothing bad will happen to my girlfriend/family. But where are these being protected?

Why do people have to live like animals in a fucking tin cage in some shit-filled piece of land next to the airport? That's not fair either!!!

And then there are the super rich who speed past me on the N1 at 200km/h in their Bentleys and SLK's without a number plate on so that they don't get caught for speeding...if that doos smashes into someone and kills a family of 4 is he any different from the tikhead murderer??? How are they above the law?

There's just no respect for the law these days!!! I mean just the other night some hippy idiot told me that he prefers it that the police are crap in SA because he does a lot of illegal things (drugs and probably dealing as well) and in any other country he'd be caught too fast...I wanted to put my forehead through his face man!!!!

These things are just beyond my comprehension!!!

Pretty heartfelt, Eliander! I think we can all say we're freaked out by the heavy crime in SA, but guys, let's just go back to the issue that started this: car break-ins at the beach. Not rape, not murder, etc. Let's not use extreme examples to justify our own extreme responses.

Before you think I'm being holier-than-thou, I'll admit to having seriously violent fantasies regarding this one stand-up that's been giving me non-stop shit at Hoek and the Reserve. Like if I could give him TB, I'd give it twice, and then smack him for coughing. So I guess we all have our triggers...
  • Spy Dude
    May 2008
Pete, i rekon you smack the oke, you two have a barnie and sort it out, win or loose, its the best way to sort out a bully, cos thats what that oke is, he doesnt like your face and thinks he can push you around. Just like a school yard bully, but as we all know, schoolyard bullies are generally the biggest cowards, with huge insecurity issues.

Back to the topic on hand.

I still skim, you okes do what TV has always taught us... think The Ateam, magnum, airwolf, thundercats, batman, spiderman, superman, and sort it out yourselfs. We have been taught from a young age that you have the right to defend yourself and your property, and if that involves a little sting opperation and the basterds getting a little smackdown as punishment, so be it, we all know the babylon will just release them in an hour.

My point is, in the past i have handed over okes to the cops, and you know what, the cops let them go and then they come back after you with knives and guns. This is South Africa, there is no law for the honest tax paying citizens, it only exsists to protect the ANC fatcats who rape the system for all its worth.

And that is exactly what the Bilderburg Group want! A N.W.O. is coming, be afraid people, be very afraid. All this kuk thats happening is exactly what they want.

  • May 2008
yup to true, criminals have more rights then the good guys in this country at the moment and its true. read it in the newspaper not to long ago and when i was down at the police station they told me the same thing

so yes, CRIME DOES PAY in this country. And to think about how many statistics dont get reported from crime everyday!!

Maybe if we cant beat them we should join then.. randomly you would be able to steal your wallet, cellphone, ipod back etc ;)

but mind you if you were a cop working for this country would you actually care with the way your government looks after you? Has anyone ever been into a police station, even the city center one and one overseas?! you see the difference and why they respect and love their jobs so much abroad?!

sadly i think im getting over this country and the people that live in it! its changed so much and people are just so dam unfriendly here also!!!

Is it worth putting up with all this and placing yourself or loved ones in danger? Must say had my good days here in the country, but the amount of times robbed etc im lucky compare to most the people ive known or met.

Well think few more years most and im out of here... for good ;) the rest of you can have all the waves that stay behind, im going to score elsewhere and live a good happy life again without being worried about muggings, being stabbed, robbed, hijacked etc just to go for a paddle or to work

I don't think that this type of crime or the frequency there of is limited to South Africa - Iam pretty sure that at this very moment there are boogers/surfers in other parts of the world moaning about exactly the same thing.

It is sad that these things occur, but we have to try and find some form of peaceful solution to our problem.

It is tough having to constantly turn-the-other-cheek when faced with issues such as these and it is even more difficult when these types of crimes and worse are happening to us and to those we know and hold dear to our hearts...but violence begets violence and in my opinion...violence has never solved anything...well dropping the A Bomb stopped the Second World War, but that is besides the point!

Like Eilander says...such hatred is built through constantly reading about the serious crimes taking place in our beautiful country and no-one seems to be able to offer any kind of solution - sort or long term.

Honestly i must say it would be flippin cool to latt them with a couple of frozen paintballs, but would that stop someone else from coming along and breaking into cars a short while later?...i think not.
The fact of the matter is that no matter how many of these thieves you "sort-out" there will always be more waiting in line to take their place, so the problem as it stands is never-ending. We surfers are soft targets and will be taken advantage of...so leave all your valuables at home.

Like i say...we have to as a community come together and find our own solution instead of expecting the SAPS or someone else to step forward. Might is suggest a local community group of concerened surfers?

Alone we stand silent, but together we have a voice...

Crime is not restricted to South Africa alone...sure overseas there are less violent crimes, but crime still occurs.

Just look at London for example...more youths are being killed now than ever before.
While i was there in 2001, staying in Central London (Waterloo near the OXO Tower), i felt safe walking around at any hour - mostly thanks to Big Brother. But if you were to take a short journey to places like Northholt, Stratford (or anywhere in Essex for that matter) or even to the Isle of Dogs (Mudchute) you'd often notice police banners warning passers by that they were in a muggings hot-spot...or banners asking for witnesses to serious crimes that occurred in the area.

My point being that crime is exists no matter where you are in the world. Lets face it...no where is 100% safe anymore.

I too think this might all be like Spy points out...part of a greater plan for governments to impose stricter rules and regulations - eventually converting the planet into a policed state.

Think about it...the more tired we become of these violent or non-violent crimes, the more willing we will be to let this kind of "take-over" occur.

    Scary....ahhhhhhh

ya man you guys think its bad there like elemtree said....

here in london in the last 12 months there have been over 65 deaths under the age of 25 ( which is younge) by violent means ie stab, gun, sharp object. 12 MONTHS. that 5 yougens killed in violent crime a month in the capital only...

So dont get to much hatred for the police or the offenders back home cause it s everywhere and seeing the type of poverty there is home than there is here make s you think?

Its about an solution rather than fight fire with fire.

Leaving your values at home is a good start. fitting an alarm( how many you actually have that ) And always being aware of your suroundings and of dodgy people.

if i see some one dodge in a car park at derdes ill go have a friendy chat with the guy. see what he s up to start asking him personal questions .even if he might not be just see what he s up to and stuff . i do this cause i think it sykes the people out. cause now the guy s been noticed and he know s I picked him out.

maybe it works or not but i aint been any sticky situasies yet, cross fingers touch wood ect.

so ya just be aware and if there s someone you think that doesnt fit the profile for that spot cause you all know your spots inside out tune them whats up and find out what they up to in a friendly matter.

another thing. You allowd to report a suspiciouce looking person to the police even if they not so if you unsure just do it. make the call then go surf . telling on seems like a gay (oops) thing to do but that s the only way people get bust nowadays.

the illuminate are behind all crime, cos thats what they want to do... breed fear so we give into their new world order... viva anarchy!!

  • May 2008
such a sick and twisted ending there i must say ;)

but ja think as long as you live here you wont be able to feel safe no matter where you go in this country anymore and probably a long time to come

long gone are the old SA days where you would catch a train down to the beach with all your mates, spend the day on the beach playing one bounce and in the water while getting burnt to a crisp and not having to worry about your stuff ever...

i just feel sorry for the next generation of upcoming groms and kids. right now i wouldnt want my kid growing up in this country, but maybe thats just me and cause ive lived in a first world country for quite sometime and coming back here to a third world isnt the same any more with the health of living

who said UK was a nice country anyways? haha, nah over that place... rather move to States, Europe, Oz etc.

think im going to become an organised crime sydnicate and take commisions.. anyone keen to join? good benefits

  • May 2008
or breed fear not to mess with bodyboarders ;)

yeah ppl in PE must watchout by something good parking...ive being broken into twice there in 2 months...watchout for a maroon coloured taz, 4 black men were seen around my car while the breakin happened but the guards were 2 scared to stop them...whats the point of the guards then i dont know....stole 15g of stuff out my car, sound, cellphone, wallet, ID, drivers licence, cash...and you know what the cops said to me? "eish well we dont know your licence plate number so you must do investigating yourself, if you find anything let us know...otherwise in 2 days time we closing the case"...this after i gave them my license plate no and all that....there have been alot more breakings at the same parking lot so be careful...if you take your keys with you to the beach, bury it under sand and put a rock ontop so you know where it is, ive seen them walking along the sand looking at everyones things on the sand...
