Yeah saw this a couple days ago.
    RIP brother Nakata.
Think it was Andre Botha who told me once that this dood got a pipeline lip cracked on his head and when he surfaced his eye was hanging out from its socket onto his board!!!

The Banzai Pipeline is no joke.
Its got alot of power,Im sure alot of our boys know that 4 sure.
Saw an interview with Paul Roach where he said that its like the wave is almost out to get u somedays.
He's got alot of respect for the wave himself he says.

So men who ride pipe r legends in my book past & present hands down no question.

Josh was a really nice guy, a regular at OTW and Insanities where he was respected by all the locals. 500+ at his memorial service with most of the core North Shore bodyboarders there to bid him and his family aloha. We will miss him.............

he sounded like a super nice guy who was stoked on bodyboarding like the rest of us. there's a video of his family talking about him on a recent blog i posted on our site (link below) if anyone's interested. There are also tributes to Peter Edmonds who was tragically killed by a shark attack in NSW, and lastly the story of Lt. Michael Anthony Monsoor who recently received a medal of honor for his heroic act of bravery in Iraq. (thanks to Danny Black for the heads up on this in his mypace bulletin. I wouldnt have known about this and its a compelling story to say the least).

    May they all R.I.P.

Interesting blog..maybe you could include an entry on Ivan Friedman, the SA bodyboarder who died from cancer last year.

See the following thread for more information:
