As far as I know - NOT ALLOWED! I heard it has something to do with their international trade agreement with USA and the security requirements relating to public access of the port.

I haven't been down there in AGES so not sure what the current status is but last I was there the security were threatening people and trying to tow cars away. I even heard from a mate that a rubberduck arrived when they were surfing and the okes chased them out the water.

Anybody else been down there lately?

I haven't been down there for ages but why not park at 'Wang Tai' down by river mouth or Milnerton lighthouse and take a 5 minute walk down. Worth a try?

    ahoi bud,

me an mate was down at the cape wedge about two weeks back say roundabout between 4-5 in the afternoon. we never surfed but wot we normally do - we park our car further down the pier then park around the wall, sometimes alongside the workers cars so it does not look suspect. iv done this about twice. however, if the babilon security does giv u a bit of hostility then drive further up the main road pass the turnoff to go to the wedge along the train line (u driving towards blouberg) - as u drive along that stretch, you'l check there is palisade fencing along the train line - if u have your jedi focus on - look carefully at the fencing to spot a gap in fence - go thru - trot over train line and wen its workin - it gets perfect - not wedging but long barels. safe spotting

    peac and respect bro

When youall were surfing thr trails at melkbos, Surfers were arrested at the wedge and carted off to jail in their wetsuits... they were fined.. not sure how much.
Cops dont take it lightly, its tresspassing, they wait for you on the other side of the dollaces, a water unit in a rubber ducky chases you out of the water.

They dont give a hoot if you have a royal cape pass or not. They are taking it lank seriously and if in the last couple of months you got to surf it, and didnt get harrassed by the pigs, consider yourself very lucky.

Crow is right, it is an international port and the YANKS threatened sanctions if our government didnt close it down to outsiders. Seems our paranoid brothers in America are a wee bit scared us surfers and boogers and even the goat boater khimal (who is muslum -- so they must be right, cos we all know, according to bush and co.. that all them towel heads are on a jihad to blow up the land of the free  ) anyways -- we want to smuggle in weopons of mass destruction in our board bags, slip it onto a boat bound for the USA and blow the whole flippin place to kingdom come. YEEEEE HAAAAAAA!!!!!

Seriously bush you poes... all i wanna do is get a high tide wedge bouncing off the dolaces and launch the phattest revo ever, i couldnt care less about your country, and your paraniod attitude. Think about this, has the war on terror made less terrorists or more?
Has the war on drugs made less dealers or more?
All of americas foreign policies have a very strange way of back firing and thanks to them we now live in a much darker place.

This is just my opinion -- sorry to any yanks i might have offended, but honestly, after you took away my surf spot, i dont give a damn.
