Pro surfer Fred Patacchia exchanges his surfboard for a bodyboard half way during the final of the ASP WQS 3-Star Monster Energy Pro at Pipeline. I wonder what his sponsors are going to say about that..
Nothing wrong... go thr pink bodyboard.... lucky the boys from Volcom didnt beat him...

Cool - must have been a laugh.
Any know any surfers out there who rip on the sponge (prone)?
I know Kelly Slater used to bodyboard and I've seen a couple a couple of surfers get it right on a sponge but not a whole lot. There is a bit of a different mindset to attacking a wave on a sponge than on a surfboard and it is always amusing watching people cross-over to another sport and watch how they try apply what they think should work ...

Kainoa Magee - went the other way - surfs stand up as a pro. (Has done for some years now)
He surfed the 2007 Pipe Masters as a Hawaiian wildcard.
I assume he does both these days.
