Can anybody tell me wat DK purist shapes are out there that have nice big channels?
I havnt seen any and was just wunderin if all of the current favourite shapes are channel-less and if the pros are like reckoning that no channels r the biz right now or sumthin cos all my sweet DK boards in the past had them.

    Anyone?

    B kiff.

I think the idea is that the pro's are able to control their boards without channels and that not having channels makes the board looser giving them more freedom.

I have an Aka LMNOP - not sure if you're refereing to this or the Toys model. The shape and thickness of the board reminded me of the first Manta Roach which came out and was one of the best DK boards I've ridden which is maybe why it was really easy to get into. The board goes like a bomb and there is no doubt that it kills my other boards which I use for prone/DK. Some guys can ride anything but for me, I need the right board - I like to 'try' put a bit into my turns and without the right bodyboard I'm not able to dig the rail deep enough or hold it through the turn and they end up pretty lame.

You may be talking about the new Toys Aka, maybe a similar board but I don't know it. If it is the LMNOP then my opinion is that you have the control you want without channels while loose enough to throw some decent tail. Each to their own and I definitely would not be adverse to riding a board with channels again (although I have never been a fan of deep channels).

Yip it was the elemenopee one.
Awsome shape but i just didnt wanna risk buying the thing and then frikkin hating it u kno?
I think I had that roach u were mentioning too.
Back in like 96 or there abouts?
It was the toobs with all the lil roaches on it?

Im also sooperfussy when it comes to boards so I tend to just stick to the channels cos I kno they werk for me.
I only wear vipers too cos i reckon they give one an added "rudder" effect in the way theyr designed.
Oh and i always put the left fin on first cos its like a ritual LOL.
The one fin has a dot thats slightly more to the left than the other so on the left she goes!!!
Each to his own i guess hey.
I mean my mate Glen is one of the most awsome old skool skaters i've seen on the planet and his truck setup is nothing short of ankle breaking theyr so loose!!!!

Dunno how he does it but it werks for him

But ja so can anyone tell me if the lackey or ODB hav channels?
Im guessin not but i aint seen either of em yet in my circles.

Im really thinking of lending those 2 templates and hooking em up with AT's sweet channel system.
Should make for sum pretty hot potential methinks.

    Sweet okes.

oh ja......im also keen to combine a hot DK shape with AT's new rail system.
HMMMM.......yes it could be the way forward?
U know you'll have the railling of a surfboard together with shapes that r proven DK smokers.

But alas it all costs money and with no sponsor......it'll all have to wait im affraid.
    Weeoo weeoo......tear.

    late.

Guys the ultimate dk board is the NMDK.
You dont really need channels, you use your back foot. Get fins that work for dk. Vipers kids, they work.
Dual stringer, absolutely perfect shape. It bends but only just enough (slightly) it stays dead straight. It's so easy to ride dk, so fast, when you turn it fels like youre doing handbreak turns in a ferrari doing 300, even on 2 foot waves you can tear a huge chunk in it just turning at speed. 10/10 dk board. Gareth Pikkie Goosen just got one, after not being able to find a functional dk board for years. The NMDK has got him ridng a bodyboard again. Braden.
