Dude nevermind the ultimate surfvan...i saw the ultimate trailer(by that i mean the small one), just the other day...it had everything from a kitchen sink, to a microwave and a sleeping compartment big enough for two!

I know what i want for my birthday (yet another camping accessory i will never use!)

Back to the surfvan...or BOOGIEVAN since this is sixty40...damn i always wanted one as a kid...my mates and i dreamt of the many missions we would make in our uber vans.

The wetsuit dryer is a great idea(if you live or surf somewhere where one would need a wetsuit, otherwise i suppose it could be used for clothing...anyway), so add that in.

You have to have a double bed...its a must! Under the bed there could be some small drawers for clothes(you won't need many drawers because you shouldn't take too many clothes-the whole vibe of camping, or even getting away for the weekend, is roughing it. So with the rest of the space under the bed make some room for pots, pans and plates(that kinda junk), and a phat storage area for at least 4 boards.

A DVD player would be schweet to watch surf vids and amp up before a surf...the player could double as your sound system so make sure you add in a couple phat subwooooofers, 6X9's and some of those tweety things!...dooof doooooof thud!...Pimp my Van here we come!

A fridge...yeah good idea...Smeg cos were upperclass van owners!

Ok...no pimped van would be complete without a naff mirrorball hanging from the rearview mirror so add one of those and fluffy cow skin seat covers, with matching ones for the sun visors and steering wheel!(maybe thats going too far?)

    I'm running dry on ideas...

    Wait... ... ... .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

    No i'm all out!

Solar panels on the roof, that power fans to keep the interior cool in summer and warm in winter. (read about this on trendhunter.com)
Solar panels that automatically recharge batteries for your camping lights and satelite TV and GPS.
Variable suspension, so you can corner like formula 1, and hit the dirt roads with equal ease.
    Self inflating/deflating tyres.
A decent looking retractable sunshade for chilling in summer.
Streamlined roofracks that don't whistle and hum when you go faster than 80km/h or better yet a "hidden" compartment built into the roof for storage of boards, but does not comprimise the interior height of the cabin or look stupid like an ice-cream van.
Retractable cup holders and storage compartments everywhere.
Then how about to save fuel costs, a 6 cylinder engin that shuts off 2 cylinders when your just cruzin and automatically engages all 6 when more power is needed.
And most importantly it must still look retro like the good old veedubs van.

Not that it will give you much inspiration but here are two shots of our surf van from my trip through Europe in 1996 ... although from the van you may think it was the 70's.

She was a bit of a classic ... a '69 Dodge Commer which we affectionality named "The Green Mullet" which was home to 5 Saffa's and the token Kiwi for 2 months.
