i left South Africa about 5 years ago and now live in New Zealand. As i remember it ther was always the agro between surfers and bodyboarders but bodyboarding was still quite popular. Over here i am one of the only 'dick draggers' in my town, all my mates are 'stand up surfers' except for one other sponger who is at uni now so we only get to surf 2getha over summer. so i was just wondering what the state of bodyboarding is like back home? is it still fairly popular, or has it died off to stand up surfing?
in my opinion, bodyboarding is growing in the bigger cities, durban & CT. here in EL im always surrounded by stand ups. remember EL boasts some world class stand ups, and im proud of this even if they are stand ups!!
judging by all the new dvd releases and pics in 60/40 id say bodyboarding is heading the right direction and growing. there is alot of amp and hipe amongst us.

SA..... haha, yup crowded as usual and still the surfers / bodyboarders hating each other even though they dont realise they two different sports and cant compare.... the only thing it bodyboarders get more bummed cause most of them cant surf well and mess up to many waves when its good
