Friday 21st...missioned Christmas shopping, called a mate of mine who took great pleasure in boasting about the 3 - 5 foot gems he had just scored at Cave Rock...bleak...totally bummed knowing that Cape Town was supposedly phlat...

Saturday 22nd...decided on Friday that a dawnie was needed...so at 5am i went in search of branders. Derdes...pretty flat and weak, next on the list - Gassies. Got there, did the walk(aaarrrrgghhh), Power Box looked promising with 2 foot lines breaking on the outside banks...got amped and carried on to the Chamber...got there to find 3 foot bombs exploding about 30cm from the shore...not cool.

Sat and watched for about 30mins hoping conditions would change...decided to do the "walk of shame" back to my car, stopping every so often analysing evry wave along the way - not good all rubbish.

Ok so we had missioned all that way without surfing - not cool.
On to Yzers...where we would paddle out irrespective of conditions.

I wasn't too enthusiastic...didn't think we'd find anything, but to my surprise as we rounded the corner we were greeted by the phattest solid 3 - 4 foot left that blew the chunkiest blowout i've seen in ages!

    Game On!

Had the sickest surf...a few okes out(not many boogers) exchanged wave for wave, got the sickest wedging right that dredged as it hit the bank, throwing solid pits and providing boostable ramps on the way out!

    Steve Pol...dude what an invert!

A true God send on a day most had written off!

Damn i love missions when they reap rewards!

*Spy you should have joined!

    Oh my goodness--What a rush!
    Way amped for ya mate!
Imagine with the miles of coastline y'all have, there are probably a few secret spots, awaiting a good challenge, with some crazy bombs goin off--keen for exploration. Love wedges as well--stoked for you! Just what I love to read and I guess wanted to read to escape the madness of last minute detail, with soon arriving guests from California. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing like this time of year and the good times shared with loved ones and friend's!
Just really bummed at the moment! My mom, the young spring chicken she is, at only 68, was admited to the hospital, night before last. With highly elevated levels of protein and calcium in her blood after experincing excruciating back pain while on a trip in hawaii. It is presumed possibly bone cancer. However, nothing conclusive yet, so they say, unless they are trying to shelter me of this news as well--frustrating as heck! She is very weak at this point and it is not only a danger to the heart but a slow proccess to lower the count as well. Unfortunatelly she and my brother with his family are not going to be able to make the journey. If any of you are of the praying kind--much appreciated!!

Otherwise, all the best to all of you for a very happy and joyous holiday season!! As Gareth once shared, there is no time better than the present, to let those close to you, know how much you love and care about them. Admitedly, I have a soft spot in my heart for all you South Africans--
    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

yeah its just got pretty flat here, was about 1/2 - 1 foot this morning. was amping so bad from yesturdays surf that i went out anyway. competing for waves with 20 longboarders tends to frustrate me tho... got to practise a bit of DK so was all good ay.
