Who are the south african iba competitors?

Do we have any? I think the last time I saw a south african make an impact on world bodyboarding was when Andre Botha burst on the scene in 2000.

What has happened? i know our country has some really brilliant riders, but is there any more competiveness today?

Be interesting to hear some thoughts from everyone?

Dunno where you were when Mark McCarthy came 2ND at the Ledges Pro in Maui this past Season on Hawaii???
The Local contingent of Oros, Watts, Fischer, Gray and the rest all competed in the Pipe Contest???
Dan Worseley and Lloyd Perreira rode last years Shark Island Trials and Dan made it through to the Main Event???
Mark is in Oz at the moment competing at this years Shark Island event right now???
Any other questions????

Yeah fair enough but i think what apsierra was trying to ask was: are there guys who are actually doing the whole tour? ie. are there any guys doing all the contests on the tour not just riding one contest here and there..

Mark McCarthy is doing the tour... well as much of it as he can afford anyway as it is largely self-funded.
He is doing Oz, Chile, Canary Islands and then onto Hawaii for the last 2. Or those were the plans anyway when he left. He wanted to do the European leg, but it was near impossible to get a Schengen visa without confirmed flights and accomodation, and also it meant like an extra R30k and about 8000 miles of flying in a very short space of time.

any body know whats up with andre botha? thought he was goin for a comeback and i was really amped to see his progress. Marthinus i know you his cousin could you maybe shed some light on dre?

He's back at home in Durbs. Basically what happened is, he got to Sintra just just in time for his heat.. Although he got there just in time his equipment didnt... Got lost somewhere between the US and Portugal... Bummer

saw a post that Hubb had to go buy his own model cos the same thing happened to him.

if that happend to me i would ride a dustbin lid... just to make a statement.. to the other compeditors who wouldnt lend me a board, to the airline to show them what i think of them and to the media, for shits and giggles.

on a side note: looks like Jordy smith is gonna get sponcered by Nike.
