Mark McCarthy went for a surf at 3rde steen on friday and someone stole his board, wetsuit and fins. if anybody sees his board please do something. his board is a ms one black deck and orange slick. the delta tail is a lot sharper than the standard ones. mike stewart gave mark his proto model. please be on the look out. mark left SA yesterday to compete in the shark island trail, so you guys can keep me informed.

Check the local "crack convertors" or call them and tell them to be on the look out.

so where was it recovered... just for future reference for us derde steen stalwarts.... at the crack crusaders? in the township or at some nigerian crack dealers house in parklands? or was it a case of mistaken idenetity?

Hey, I live in Parkies, and Parkies rules! I'm 7min from Derdesteen.....and I've only ever heard gun shots once......ha ha ha i see the police helicopter flying over-head with the full-on search-light all the time though......BTW was Mark's kit boosted from a car or was it just lying around?

Wasn't Steve's (Polanski) bukkie also stolen from Derde Steen about a year ago? Luckily the crime hasn't got that bad down here in Hermanus yet, you can still park your car at the beach without having to worry about it getting jacked while you in the water...

maybe jarred can explain, mark told me friday night at daniel's party that his product has been stolen. after i posted it on the web i got a sms that the stuff is with jared. maybe jared wants to carry marks board and wetsuit like with a golfcaddy.

Hey Spy Dude!

Hahahaha! Mark's board was so not stolen! He can be super thankful that there were some honest boys at the steen.
Myself and Pierre were the last ones out the water and were changing by the car when I noticed a whole kit just lying in the bush behing the green fencing - board, fins, suit! Everyone had already left the parking lot, so we figured if we just left it there then someone would end up stealing it, so we stuck it in the car and gave it to Jared when we found out whose stuff it was. Can only imagine how bummed Mark must've felt when he realised he didn't have his stuff with him after getting home - so we're stoked that we were able to help out!

and thats that kids, shot stu, atleast there isnt some dodgy guy prey on boogers and their kit. I do worry about my stuff at the steen, but these days since itsw become the long beach of the west coast, i am a little morte relaxed. Mark was just absent minded. I remeber once at Kbay, i was so amped to paddle out i left my car open and my clothes all over the parking lot... i think peter brand came to the recue back then too.

here is a useful tip, when Jessica Fletcher comes to town... leave. Cos someone is gonna die.

Speaking of picking shit up on the beach. I found a tech 1 fin (grey) size 12-14 (for a massive foot) with an intact teather... anyone know whos it is?

Hey guys,
Mark was not "absent-minded" here and did not "leave" his cr@p behind. He put it next to the bakkie he was in (to let the suit dry outside of the car) as he watched some more surfing and when he got back, it was gone... so naturally he assumed it had been stolen and he was really distraught by it coz he was leaving for Oz soon after. So if it was "in the bushes" as someone here is suggesting - perhaps some bugger moved it there to come and "collect" later and you guys simply found it.
Anyway, thank god it is safe with Jared.
I spoke to Markie last night from Oz and he has asked that I get his stuff from Jared - Mr. Houston, I only have your dad's number... how can I contact you to make arrangements to collect?
Please send me a private msg with the number if you don't want everyone here to have access to it - or I'll just call via Angus - whatever is easiest for you.
Thanks to the dudes who "found and returned" the goods. Mark wishes he had the stuff before he left, but I'll keep it safe and sound till then (he reckons it might even motivate me to get back in the water a bit more??!!)

I also spotted a board with orange slick and kit just lying on the other side of the green fence.would hardly say it was in the bushes tho.wasnt even that late car park was still full.best of luck to mark at the island compo.pretend u free surfing back in the bay.
