Sintra Portugal Pro 2010

26th August 2010

1 South African, 10 Australians and a big house full of girls? Not as debaucherous as it sounds, seems everyone is more focussed on the job at hand - the Sintra pro, which looks like it could just be the title decider for 2010.

After a series of flights I arrived in Portugal on Monday morning, minus my bags which did not even make it out of the country. Monday was a long day, for me it involved 13 hours of flying followed by 2 hours of public transport and then a nice 5 hour wait in the rain for the ozzies to arrive and lead me to the house. They had a long day too with a 10 hour drive from Spain! Wow!

The place were staying in is nothing short of amazing, a massive house just a short walk away from the contest site at Praia Grande. Ben has been staying here for 15 years or something insane so I think we get kind of hooked up, which is pretty epic.

The comp is well underway with Rounds 1-3 being completed yesterday in fun conditions and the 4th round is on as I write. I make my first appearance in RD6 and our boetie begins his assault with the rest of the top 16 in RD7.Looks like we will only be in on Friday, although it could be sooner so keep checking www.ibaworldtour.com for more info.

Pretty massive crew I'm staying with and yesterday we all busted out the soccer ball for a game of "spite" which is fairly similar to one bounce except the winner gets to make up a rule that everyone has to play by, for example 5 touches is not enough. Bloody hell, 1 touch is a record for me so needless to say I was not the standout, although I did better than Jones Russell who didn't even win one game!haha! Most of the guys kill it but Winny, Jake and Riggaz are pretty damn impressive.

Just had a little workout in the sun and as soon as Hardy gets back I'm going to go get my bronze on down the beach. Loving life.
