The Imax Theatre at Durban's Gateway was packed with anxious Bodyboarders, Friends and Family. Everything was set for a night of top quality Bodyboarding on the big Screen.
The evening kicked off with the much awaited Don't Stop Dreaming, Episode 1: Chasing Dreams, a local production by the super talented Colin Van Dongen. With footage from last Season on the North Shore and the D-Rex at Durban's Wavehouse showcasing South Africans as well as top International riders. It was a brilliantly put together DVD and something that made it even more original was the in-depth look at the Lifestyle behind the sport of Bodyboarding. With the feeling from the audience ranging from "Inspirational" to "Awesome" Don't Stop Dreaming is definitely one for the DVD Collection. There's some insane footage of The North Shore in Hawaii doing its thing and the ever charging South Africans pushing the envelope.
Next up was ROAM II, the follow-up to the intense ROAM I. Brought to you by NOMAD and Digital Children. It follows some of the top riders from down Under. With the likes of Chris James, Matt Lackey and Jake Stone throwing themselves into some monster slabs and getting blasted skywards with the aid of some well driven Jetskis it was a rush from start to finish.
The bonus at the end of the Films was a board giveaway sponsored by Nomad Bodyboards and a super stoked grom walked away with a Brand New Nomad FSD Board.
The Party then moved over to the Wavehouse where Billy Tennant showed the onlookers how to ride the formidable D-rex and those who were old enough sipped on a couple refreshments after the action witnessed both on the Big Screen and the D-Rex.
All that's left to say is if you are still thinking about getting tickets for the Cape Town premiere then go and get them ASAP, it's a good nights entertainment and if you were unlucky enough to miss both the Premieres then go and buy yourself a copy of Don't Stop Dreaming and Roam II.
