Southern Cape Trials Update

Southern Cape Bodyboarding Association's final two trials for 2007 was held on 9 & 10 June at The Wedge in Plettenberg Bay.

TRIAL 5 - 9 June 2007

Riders were greeted by sick 3-4ft wedges. Most riders went in for a quick free-surf before the trial got underway. There were some excellent riding by all the riders throughout the day. The main standouts were Dave Comacho in the Mens division, Keegan Jordaan in the DK, Adam Morley in the juniors and Gavin Botha in the Pro division, before he did himself a back injury his second round heat and therefore not surfing the final.

TRIAL 6 - 10 June 2007

The swell drop considerably for the 6th and final trial. Waves never exceded 2ft, but there was still the odd barrel or air ramp if you picked the right waves. Standouts for the day were Dave Comacho (again), Keegan Jordaan in the juniors and Gavin Botha who dominated the Pro's and DK divisions. Geline Derbyshire also impressed with a ARS in the ladies division, she had to settle for a second place for the day as she missed her first round heat.
