RIP my man. Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet but always enjoyed following his travels and if anything a lesson to all of us to make the most of today. From the man himself, this made me smile and I'm always impressed by people with this attitude ...

A great friend, going to miss you dearly!

At 12:30 am Ivan Friedman, a legend within the international bodyboarding scene has passed away. I know that he is walking with our Heavenly Father right now, and that in his walk here on earth he had a tremendous influence on me personally, and on everyone else who knew him. He was a great inspiration to all, and he will be always remembered as someone who not only charged, but also charged a purpose driven life filled with God's grace. We will miss you dearly...

I remember growing up at north beach...seeing Ivan surfing, one of the old far bowl crew.I was always impressed by how he never compromised his riding, while most of north beach focused on contests, he was always going big and pushing himself further.

I remember my brother telling me stories about how Ivan had traveled, to places I'll probably never see, and that he was someone who I looked upto as a grom.

All those times I surfed with him I never did speak with him, but he left an impression on me as a kid which will be with me forever.

The surfs probably gonna be terrible tomorrow, but I think I'll be going for a wave anyway...RIP.

No word's can explain losing a loved one, i cannot even begin to think of the pain and torment Mr. Friedman's family is going through!
We live life oblivious of how close death is to it! we can take this time, not to mourn the passing of a great man, loving son, and dedicated bodyboarder, but to celebrate the life of a human being, who lived as there was no tomorrow, saw opportunity's and grasped them fully, we can celebrate a man who has not died, but relocated to live with our heavenly father, painless, healthy and happy.
Thank you Ivan Friedman, for showing us how to live!
Rip in peace, up there in heaven, waima sized barrels with tahiti perfection just for you!!

my thoughts go out to his family and friends.

I will always remember the ridiculous front flip he pulled at caves in front of me, seems like it was only yesterday.

    Ivan...

you were and will always be an absolute legend!
I only met him a couple times in the last months, once when he was hip and happening and being flipin naughty.. like most of us know him, and then again later on when he started getting sick.
All i can say is that the guy left such on impression on me. Not because he was a good bodyboarder, but because this guy was shining JESUS!
Shining full colours for his Lord in everything he did, with his heart!

I always looked up to you Ivan and you impacted myself and many other of my buddies in ways you never knew. Im bummed I never got to tell you.

I am so stoked you're with you're creator!

See you one day! We'll go surf everyday!
    Love u man!

If sharyn or family read this - We here at Son Surf have been praying for you guys, that God would be with you guys. And in amongst the prayers of comfort we have been celebrating what a man God created in the form of Ivan! He has impacted the nations!

    Charge for Christ,
