Ben Player has been to El Gringo numerous times and knows the wave well. This year every heat was like a final for him, "it was some of the hardest heats to compete in".
On the final day Ben ended up coming 3rd, and reckons what Tamega did was unbelievable, raising the benchmark even higher.
